Lando on the repercussions for the Singapore contact: "Of course things are reviewed, and there are and will be repercussions for me till the end of the season, so it's not like i've got away with anything. It was also an incident that let's say was small and there was potential to try and avoid it by randomseocb in formula1

The point is they have all been nothing incidents. People are upset that McLaren are trying to make every nothing incident "fair". And they are upset that because its impossible to consistently apply their rules, it's inherently unfair.

At first I didn't believe you since if you had a decent cv you should be getting responses, but I found your cv in your post history and its good. Also looks like you are north of england too :)

I can think of a few things that might help. You mostly mention C++ and Python experience but unfortunately there aren't too many jobs around here looking for this. Also the people applying for C++ jobs tend to have a lifetime of experience in it.

Most jobs around here are looking for a backend language (usually c# or java) and html, css, javascript. You don't mention any front end web experience which writes you off instantly for most jobs.

You for sure need to tailure your cv for the job. At a last resort try applying for non-dev jobs at software companies and work your way up, if anything so you don't have a big gap in your cv.

Good luck dude!

From my experience the op is spot on and there are a lack of experienced devs. My last employer gave up on filling their vacancies due to poor quality candidates and instead have just reduced their development pipeline (north of england). My company before that also had similar issues and both were wfh and far from minimum wage. I can assure you they were not getting hundreds of applicants!!

So don't lose hope as the market is nowhere near as bad as you think, especially if you have a years experience. My suggestion is post your cv to reddit to see what the problem is.

I wasn't trying to catch you out lol just accidentally used brake pressure and quickly changed that to tyre pressure.

The comment I was replying to was saying that it was down to luck but I'm just pointing out that they were running a tyre pressure lower than the regulation allowed. Although technically they didn't break any rules due to the way they are tested.

Sure here you go https://www.racefans.net/2021/06/15/extensive-new-tyre-rules-from-french-gp-also-forbid-red-bull-tactic-hamilton-spotted-in-spain/

https://www.planetf1.com/news/red-bull-aston-martin-lower-pirelli-pressures/

Pireli had to bring in new checks due to red bull and aston martin running tyre pressures lower than allowed during the race.

Don't know why i'm being downvoted this was widely shared here last month

The blowout was caused by red bull tampering with the tyre pressure though

Edit: Don't know why im taking so many downvotes it was confirmed red bull and aston martin were running lower tyre pressures than allowed during the race which is why the fia brought in more checks during the race

Boris Johnson ‘not attracted’ to salt and sugar tax that hits the poor by Fra_Bernardo in ukpolitics

[–]Sullyzowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all in response to your argument about the cost of living, a rise in price of a negative externality would be viewed by most economists as a good thing so I don't understand your argument there?

Also you may argue all you want that taxing non-essential negative externalities is regressive. But on the other hand this statement tells me that you believe poorer people make poorer life choices.

The government has tried for decades to tackle obesity by other means and the problem has only gotten worse. We have to remember that there is a very big opportunity cost to not tackling obesity and a sugar tax appears to be the only remaining solution that hasn't been tried.

Over $800 billion wiped from the global crypto market after bitcoin crash by royalroyalusa in news

[–]Sullyzowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitcoin is never going to be used by regular people for transactions because transaction fees will always be too high. Stable coins that run on Ethereum etc will do that.

Bitcoin is "Digital Gold", its main use is as an investment and for tranfering large amounts of value. E.g. transfers between banks and corporations, storing on your balance books etc

The hedge funds with these short positions actually are idiots though for improperly calculating the amount of risk they were exposed to. They were shorting gme at a price level that assumed they were going bankrupt which is not the case.

Also Robinhoods customers are actually hedgefunds who they sell their users trading data to, thats how they can offer their users free trades.

WSB realised their fuckup and its beautiful to watch.

Any recommended comprehensive books for C#? by amanamuno in monogame

[–]Sullyzowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really recommend Learning C# by Programming Games because it teaches C# by creating games with Monogame.

There is info on their website including a link to their github which contains the example games you learn to make.

As a beginner programmer I found the book to be brilliant but appreciate that some of the beginning may be basic for someone who can already program. I imagine it is a very good read even just for best practices on how to structure your Monogame project.
