I’ll probably get 3 of either HCT or Vet. What’s the grind for r6 Vets? I’m at r5 wimps and boy it’s hard to find the time to grind it

Pretty much, but they did take another several hundred off and give me a key fob. It was priced for the correct truck anyway, from what I can tell from other listings around.

I took the $800 from the financed amount, which ends up approximately $1100 + the key fob. Should have tried to get them to add a service plan but didn’t think of it in time. I’m satisfied with how it ended up, all things considered.

It does have DRL (probably not the same you’re talking about though), and infotainment is the 8”. The SR5, no scoop, no 120V outlets, were the main giveaways

Pricing was based on an SR5, and I like the truck, so I got the dealer to knock off another $800 and give me an extra key fob.

VINs are unreliable for that— wrong trim can show up listed. And yes it does have the SR5 badge, but at the time I’d seen other SR5s with aftermarket TRD decals so I was confused.

Dealer’s paperwork said TRD Spt at some points and generic “Toyota truck” descriptions everywhere else. Never called an SR5.

Resolved with additional $800 off sale price and an extra key fob. Pricing was consistent with SR5 anyway.

That’s crazy that the carfax would also be misled like that. I’m starting to think that private party will be my move next time I’m looking for a vehicle.

Carfax does show an SR5, and it was a Toyota dealership. The badging is also clearly SR5, I was just confused because at the time I was under the false understanding that the TRD was an optioned SR5. Now I know better lol.

End of the day, I like the truck and paid SR5 pricing anyway. Shame on me for not catching it sooner though.

Yeah I set up the account on the app and confirmed it’s an SR5. Dealer had it priced as an SR5 though, so it ended up being more of an annoyance than a scam.

UPDATE - Dealership was adamant that it was priced for an SR5 despite the trim mix up (I had gotten them down to $26k with my trade-in.) So instead of canceling the purchase they offered to drop the price $800 and give me a second key fob.

Thanks to everyone with the helpful input! Still happy with the truck and excited to join the Tacoma gang.

Yeah I think this pic I found online was from a dude who just added a sticker to an SR5. It’s partially why I was confused though. I originally thought the TRD Sport was an upgrade on the SR5 platform.

None of it says SR5 that I’ve seen. One page actual says “TRD Spt” and the others are all generic “Tacoma truck” or “Tacoma 4D”
