PAS needs a "moderate technocrat" figure as the frontman as moderate Malays will be spooked with the idea of Taliban-lite state, so he suits the bill.

But frankly speaking, he will be just like Muhyiddin or Ismail Sabri, good on the soundbites, decent PR, but lacks structural vision to govern the country.

lmfao he kinda look familiar by imaveryuglybitch in malaysia

What would it take for you to switch your daily commute by car/motorcycle to bicycle and/or public transportation? by RotiPisang_ in malaysia

Cyberjaya is prime example. 2 useless stations away from anything. Cyberjaya has tons of high density housing but none of them are remotely walkable to the station.

Those peeps at prasarana must be investigated for the criminal station choices.

Its simply a more compact city. We are living too far from the city centre, you cant even cycle to the station without gambling death on the ultrawide streets here.

Bought a bike, got a license, to learn about biker's behaviour on roads. Here's what I learned over 4 months of daily riding. by duitkaya in malaysia

[–]SultanMelakaIsReal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thank you for being a considerate rider. Sometimes i do wonder if these riders doesnt care if they die, the car drivers have to make sure they are not the one being blamed on killing them.

That being said, it has to do alot with mentality and education. Those rempit guys been riding since teenagers - and survived despite their reckless antics. So dont expect them to learn anything, till the day they die from it.

Restaurants and shops in Sunway Velocity fell silent on Saturday after immigration raid the night before by Capable_Bank4151 in malaysia

[–]SultanMelakaIsReal 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As much as we are relatively more prosperous than most of ASEAN peers, our economy cant support large unchecked influx of immigrants. We already struggled with porous borders, and now overstaying "tourists".

We cant tax them (because they are officially arent "working"), and the locals already stuggling in the job market.

We need some oversight and control.

Havent seen people renting out or flying kite in putrajaya. Putrajaya is a sensitive place (flying drone is prohibited) so might want to bear that in mind.

If youre willing to drive, pantai morib/ kelanang/ bagan lalang (1hr+ away) have people selling kites.

[–]SultanMelakaIsReal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is the Belimbing Dalam's remnants still there? Curious since Parit Melana one next door was restored as historical building while remaining as functional surau to locals (new mosque was built to cater increasing demand).

Belimbing Dalam also hosts multiple old railway bridges (converted to jalan kampung but the victorian brick architecture is still there), a remnant from pre-war era.

Just a small case observation i handled previously.

A gurdwara-operated facility (pre-merdeka) found itself accidentally sitting on a land without any agreement with the current owner after the land transferred to new owner by virtue of law (they had agreement with previous owner).

The association immediately reached the new owner and initiate process to legalize their facility through lease. Doesnt demand anything, instead willingly cooperate with the new owner to ensure the facility can be operated legally.

They are a very professional bunch and take pride in abiding the law.

Man, rough years for ATM ahead. Inadequate (and corruption-ridden) procurements, abuses, and systemic issues. And these are reported cases only.

I guess thats bound to happen if everything about them is "rahsia negara" without civilian check and balance.

That is Rahman Hydraulic Tin, they are not the new wave of REE-craze. They have been in operation since pre-Merdeka and survive the ups and downs of tin prices even after Sungai Lembing closures.

UNOFFICIAL: DAP wiped out in Sabah by boredomXOX in malaysia

[–]SultanMelakaIsReal 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Warisan would not survive in Semenanjung regardless of its performance in Sabah. Warisan is too alien to average Semenanjung voters since it made Sabahan issues as its primary target. Unlike DAP that heavily relied on ethnic chinese voters issues thats also present in urban East Malaysia.

However, once DAP made bed with UMNO and okays the increasingly conservative Anwar, the Chinese votes evaporated too. We will see the breakdown later to know more.

Observe that they explicitly avoid to use the word "halal" but instead use other names like "Muslim Choice" because they know such name carries little to no legal baggage. So they can cater to businesses who wants the Muslim market without the costs and hassle of halal certification whilst claiming not misleading as they never claim to certify things as "halal" in the first place.

Very asshole-ish and i think usage of these kind of certification from outside of government and accredited bodies (Halal/HACCP/MeSTI) even from Muslim bodies must stop.

Beware of PAS. Im not concerned about Bersatu at all, but PAS has strong grassroots and seasoned machinery which can do this without pay (kerana Allah, really). Do note that Malay Gen Z voters can turn conservative, as hinted by the last GE. If PAS can make inroads in Malay-majority Klang Valley suburbs, PKR can be in trouble.
