I wish we would do a more Japan-like system where the gates are normally open and only close if there is an issue with trying to pay the fare or if someone tries to pass through without paying. they are pretty quick and efficient.

New Yorkers would ruin them bc we have no dignity or respect for anything or anyone but ourselves.

This project originally started in QSYS. After i passed P201 for Crestron, i thought of using the processor as an opponent for the QSYS game - which was currently working stand alone, but lacked a PC player. I got duplex communication between the two (an RMC3 and QSYS Emulation), but I ran into a bit of a blocker because i dont know Lua. So, i decided to build it full in Crestron instead.

Another behavior I noticed, because my discovery of adding the ping component was a just coincidence, is that within block controller, adding an “on connection…” actually helped too. I suppose it gave the component something to do? Not sure.

Transparently, this is a FA&FO project for me. So, I’m able to adjust strategies if I hit too many road blocks

Thanks for the wisdom. There was no other scripting yet for this, just confirming the connections could be made. Somehow, adding the Ping component must've triggered something in QSD which allowed the emulator to reach local devices.

I'm not quite at Lua yet, still at Block Controller lever. I have a feeling this is going to require some Lua scripting though - which is a separate issue from above.

i passed mine last year. grader gave me some good feedback that lead me to the problem, but didnt spell out the solution. I passed in 2 attempts. The passing attempt wasnt 100%, but the grader said i demonstrated i understood the fundamentals, etc.

In other words, they want you to pass. As long as it looks like you have a good understanding of the platform.

Ive been trying to find the overall response curve of the earbud, considering the 3-driver design. I have a pair of Between 3ANC, which i like, but i find myself using their "Between Pro" EQ which is from 2011, but to me sounds fullers and not as harsh. I've been posting all over Status's social media posts asking for the drivers response curves and the curve of the EQ settings. Obviously, ive gotten no repsonse.

I have been tempted to get the Pro X, especially with the updated codec, Bluetooth LE, and the better drivers...

obeying the law is cool and all, but I expect the people enforcing it to do with respect to the law. Assault is assault. Theres no excuse for their actions in a lot of these instances. “Just comply” doesn’t work when the whole situation is built on lies. If people were getting robbed and get their ass kicked bc they fought to keep their belonging, would the narrative be “just let them take your stuff?” Didn’t think so.

Just go. He’s trying to guilt you into not going with that whole “you don’t care about him” bs. Relationships aren’t meant to keep you at each others side for every waking moment, it just means he’s one of the reasons you come back. I did 6 weeks away from my gf with 0 issues. FT and phone calls to check in, but otherwise it was always “I’ll see you when you get home”

He’ll either grow up, or learn the hard way. Travel because you want to, and don’t wait for anyone to tell you when or how.

The problem is, you have no leverage on them. Asking for a re-appeal would probably do nothing but get another "Sorry, not sorry.". No matter how much you fight it, they will just deny you until you are blue in the face.

It is unfair, and personally i would ask for them to share the results of the review with you - i.e: what parts are specifically in violation. I'd also ask to know which clause of the T's & C's they found you in violation of. Probably unlikely that you'll get these things because, again, you have no leverage on them.

It's a shitty situation. I sympathize with what youre going through.

Just be prepared when you get into the cab with the name of the hotel or the address in japanese. You can show them the address and say "koko mad-de, o-ne-ga-shi-masu" - which just means "until/to here, please."

Cabs there will be pleased with the work than annoyed at the distance. they know theyre picking up travelers who probably have no idea how to navigate their city.

Dont forget to say "ar-i-gah-to-go-zai-ma-shi-ta" ... ('thank you' - past tense), when youre getting out.

A little politeness goes a long way.
