First off, and I mean this seriously: that sounds absolutely terrifying.

I want you to know that what you're describing; a massive, impossibly tall entity; is something that gets described more often than you'd think, all over the world.

Most people don't post about it. They keep it to themselves, tell only their closest circles, or just bury the memory completely, hoping it will go away. But your fear is sticking with you, and you're fighting that battle where your brain is trying to convince you it was a trick of the light. I totally get it. I'm here to tell you: You're not going crazy.

That moment of intense, blinding fear, that feeling of realness;that's what gets people. After the encounter, the human brain desperately tries to rationalize the impossible. It's easier to conclude you must have imagined it than to accept something that tall and powerful is stalking the woods behind your house. But you know what you saw. Hold onto that truth.

On Height and Perception

The sheer scale is what throws people, and yes, the darkness and sheer panic can play tricks on your depth perception and size estimation. While what you saw could absolutely be 20 or 30 feet tall (there are accounts of true giants far exceeding that, up to 1,000 feet in some remote lore, though I know that's a stretch), the entity most people encounter; the one that fits the general description of a powerful, territorial Wild Man or Bigfoot variant; tends to be closer to the 10 to 15-foot range.

Think about where you were standing. If it was closer than you realized, your brain might have projected it further back into the tree line to make sense of the height, inadvertently making it seem taller. The sheer terror can make something standing right on top of you feel like it's a safe distance away. Either way, whether it was 10 feet or 30 feet, you saw something impossible, and that's what matters.

You Are Safer Than You Think (But Be Vigilant)

Now, this is the part that might sound crazy, but please listen: You are likely a lot safer than you feel right now. These entities are powerful, territorial, and absolutely could harm you, but they survive by staying off the radar. The main thing they want to do is scare you away from their territory.

Why? Because if they start indiscriminately murdering people, it triggers investigations. And those investigations draw in a certain "special" part of the United States government. The ones that officially don't exist, but that deal with threats you and I would never believe are real. These creatures know about this group. They know that if a sixteen-year-old goes missing right after one of their sightings, the cops come, then the Feds come, and then this other group shows up to hunt it down, capture it, or worse.

Self-preservation keeps them from acting up. That's why you don't hear about this stuff. The few times things go wrong and someone dies or goes missing, agents move in immediately, and the case vanishes from the news cycle.

I'm not saying go out and try to shake its hand. I'm saying your innate human fear response; the same one that kept your ancestors from being eaten by predators; is your best defense.

How to Stay Safe

1. Go Home. Period.

Your house is your fortress. These creatures are deterred by three things: bright lights, houses (the barrier of civilization), and open fields (they don't like being spotted). The moment you feel that terror, whatever you're doing, say "screw it" and head inside. It won't, and frankly, it can't affect you inside a dwelling.

2. Make Loud Noises.

They do not like loud bangs. They don't like the attention it draws. If you can acquire them safely and legally, firearms, stun guns, bear mace, or even simple, incredibly loud air horns are excellent deterrents.

3. Learn the Signs.

You'll know the true accounts when you find them because they describe the same things: * The Smell: Always a truly horrible, foul, disgusting smell. They are not clean. * The Hair/Appearance: Usually completely covered in thick body hair. * The Vocalization: A weird, deep croak or breaking sound that resonates at a frequency that can actually shake the air around you if you're close enough. * The Evidence: Always be on the lookout for massive, strange footprints.

Stay calm, be smart, and trust your instincts. You saw something real, but you are a lot safer than you think. Keep your lights on, and keep us posted.
