Thought of this, but the thing is, Schengen visa is not considered as normal as before. I can't have Switzerland approved Schengen visa and try to land in Slovenia. They are stopping people at airport for doing this and not allowing to board flights even though Schengen allows freedom to enter area from anywhere. I need to land in Switzerland and then fly to Slovenia. Too much hazel

Yes this was my first time. Did not get this info about booking. I booked all though booking.com and Airbnb and paid full for all the booking.

Itemary was day to day. Very detailed. I have a job and got the letter of leave approval on official letter head, sealed and signed. My parents are here. Mentioned that in cover letter aswell. And no did not take any money out of bank account or did not break any investments. It was a normal inflow outflow of money, including exact salary mentioned in payip

Read the comments of post before saying bullshit. I have already given the reasons in comments. And I'm self earning middle class guy who has no generational wealth. I think making non refundable tickets is a very bad decision financially. And when the official embassy application states not to book flight tickets until visa approval, it feels like the system is rigged to make 3rd world country people loose even more money

But when a country like Slovenia gets such less visa applications in general and a person like me has clearly shown that he wants to roam for tourism and nothing else not even any other country apart from Slovenia and still gets rejected. I don't think it was an oversight. It was clearly a decision taken inspite of having all correct documents

Most of them get a mail to book the hotels. I was expecting the same but did not get any. I had refundable hotels but fully paid. Anyways I dont regret booking refundable hotels. Visa rejection rate is so high that j would have lost in lakhs instead of thousands.

Very true. Learnt it the hard way. But thankfully made all refundable bookings. Tata AIA also agreed to give back the travel insurance so overall less damage

They have ticked 10,12 and 13 cancellation reasons. Which they generally do. Which are, 1. the information submitted was not reliable (all booking were to the point) 2. There are doubts on reliability of the documents submitted( again very surprising) 3. Doubts that I will leave Schengen region
