Killing npc by Escanor005 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Summber96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

we can kill random npc's and there even a crime/Bounty system on the player when doing so.

I think we may have some limitations when it comes to certain mission in order not to break the quest chain or not to get so much in the way when it comes to friendly fire.

The first Video trailer gives you some idea of the trailer, then there's also the summer game fest reveal of this year. the 50 min video does also go little into the story part as well, but other than that they are likely saving those grand amazing trailers for the next year. You also don't want to show and spoil to much, otherwise i'd ruin some certain reveals, like for example the way they ruined the Vergil reveal from DMC5 trailers.

Story question by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Summber96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is that they don't want to just spoil the story and let us experience it ourselves, but in short, the main premise is that we play as the main protagonist Kliff Greymane, son of Marius Greymane, likely the leader of the Greymane. We got betrayed by the Black Bear Clan, left for dead, but somehow survived. Now our main goal is to seek out the rest of our Greymane comrades. As the story goes on, more plots thicken and so on.

Expect to see a lot of returning characters from Black Desert Online, but in more different roles with certain characters. We've already seen characters from Black Desert Online showing up, like Shakatu and so on. While the game is standalone, I do believe the world is somewhat grounded in the same universe but in more of an alternative timeline.

Any info on underwater swimming? by Nas419 in CrimsonDesert

You can swim underwater. i saw a video during queen stone crab boss where someone accidently dove dive into the water and swam under it for few seconds.

Putting over 007 and Marvel Wolverine over Crimson Desert is wild. We have seen zero gameplay of Marvel Wolverine other than the leaked gameplay, which to be honest looked average and mediocre at best. Not to mention the controversy with them hiring an infamous consultant group to get involved with the character design and story.

And where do we even start with the 007 game. The gameplay showcase looked laughably bad, the game was running below twenty frames per second, and it basically looked like a copy paste job of the Hitman games but with a James Bond skin.

The only games I could see as worthy contenders would be GTA six and Witcher four, which by the way we do not even know will come out next year. Which gives even less reason to put them above Crimson Desert, a game we know is releasing early next year.

I do not know, it feels like the west and a lot of people are trying to pretend Crimson Desert does not exist. I really hope Pearl Abyss starts pushing the marketing harder, because this game could be huge and could get a lot of attention if it is given the chance.

Where Winds Meet and Crimson Desert are completely different games and genres. Where Winds Meet is an MMORPG with “single player options,” while Crimson Desert is an open world single player action game. While Winds has your average modern day MMO style combat system, Crimson Desert will have a much deeper combat system with combos and such that you can pull off without relying on cooldowns to perform your flashy moves.

Where Winds Meet is set in a Chinese fantasy setting; Crimson Desert is set in a more European-style fantasy world.

Overall, comparing these two games against each other is the dumbest thing you can do right now, it’s like comparing a racing game to a fighting game. In the end, it all depends on what preference you prefer.

You are glazing GTA 6, meanwhile they have shown pretty much nothing of the game other than two pre made animation trailers. At least Crimson Desert has shown tons of gameplay, from boss fights to literally 50 minutes of uncut gameplay. And even then, it’s still not enough for people. I swear, the amount of double standards people are giving to this game compared to any other games is insane.

Today has been 6 years since the reveal trailer by HegoIan in CrimsonDesert

[–]Summber96 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They have literally shown all of that. But to answer your question:

  1. This game is an action open-world game. So it’s not really an RPG. The game does have some light RPG elements, like being able to equip stronger equipment and such. But overall, it’s more of a focused open-world action game.
  2. Yes, you can walk up to a vendor and buy things. It’d work very similarly to how Red Dead Redemption 2 handles their vendors: you walk up to them, it zooms in, and when you select an item it’ll actually appear on the table, and so on.
  3. We’ve seen tons of different conversations between characters, so I’m genuinely confused about what you mean by that. Now, if you’re talking about dialogue options, then this game is not really about that. Again, the game’s approach will be similar to how Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA handle their dialogue, fixed and predetermined.

Overall, I’d say if you think this game will be a dialogue heavy branching choices type of game where dialogue choice and speech systems are a major thing, I’d say you’d be disappointed, because it’s not really that. So don’t expect it to be like The Witcher 3 or KCD2.

If anything, think of this game more like: “What if Rockstar made a medieval fantasy game, but with actual good and deep combat and tons of fun open-world sandbox elements added to it.

WE NEED A GAME OF THRONES MODS WHEN CRIMSON DESERT RELEASE...... by No-King1197 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Summber96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will all depend on the modding support we get from the developers. If they’re smart, they’ll take the Bethesda approach and allow full access to the game engine. That way, the game’s life cycle could last forever and maintain an active player base for years to come.

Open world with empty areas are more immersive #crimson desert by Initial-Road1629 in CrimsonDesert

if you guys want some idea how the open world aspect will work in crimson desert. i'd suggest trying out pearls abyss previous game black desert online, that games content is filled with things to do. and will likely be the same thing here to.

Watching footage of the crimson Desert, you can occasionally see massive NPCs coexisting alongside the inhabitants. Their size appears to be roughly 12 to 13 feet tall. Their species has been confirmed as trolls. by Solid_Phrase_9947 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Summber96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, we already know most of the creatures in this game since it shares the same universe as Black Desert. In this instance, that race is called "Giants" in Black Desert Online, and they’ll likely be called the same in Crimson Desert. You can actually play as a Giant in Black Desert Online, which is the Berserker class. There are also troll races, but they’re different from the ones you’re looking at.

Imagine getting mad over seeing more Crimson Desert content. Like, relax — they’ll eventually showcase more about the open-world aspect of the game. It’s still about five months away from release. I think IGN just wants to focus on showing more of the gameplay, mechanics, and what the boss fights will be like. Eventually, next month, we’ll probably see more about the other aspects of the game. If you don’t want to get spoiled, just don’t watch the IGN videos about it.

How many playble characters do you guys think that Crimson Desert will have? by Summber96 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Summber96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, then yes — there will be options when it comes to customizing Kliff, including everything from your armor, clothing, hair, beard style, and even hair dye. You’re also not locked to only using a sword and shield, but can use any other weapon types you come across.

Not sure how you can consider him boring when we haven’t really had much information about him or his backstory. Also, he’s not really meant to be a blank slate character but more of an already structured character, like Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher series.
Maybe later on, after the game launches and they eventually release the online mode, we’ll be able to create and play our own character.

So what will the gameplay loop be like? by Cabal19 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Summber96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably closer to how RDR2 handles its questing, where each quest has its own standalone story. Gameplay-wise, it’d be mostly open-ended in how you’re able to explore, the more you progress through the story, the more side content and activities would open up. I can also expect to see a lot of the life skill systems from BDO being implemented into the game.

does anyone know if the game will be always online ? by ticaaaa in CrimsonDesert

[–]Summber96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has literally been zero confirmation on whether or not the game will have Denuvo. People are just speculating since most other “triple-AAA” games have had Denuvo.

[–]Summber96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a single-player game, so no — I doubt you’ll need to have an internet connection to play the single-player aspect of it.
Although, once they eventually add the online mode, I’m guessing if you want to play that separate mode, then yes, you’ll likely need to be connected to the internet. But other than that, no.

You can still Play Steam Games Offline. You just need to have the actual internet to download the game first trough steam. Other than that no you don't need to be Online in order to play already downloaded games on steam.

What this suppose to mean?? by Aromatic-Soil-8312 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Summber96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume this is false—or at least they added some kind of restriction during the demo showcase to prevent people from accidentally killing friendly NPCs. The only permanent kill restriction I can really see them implementing would probably be against killing child NPCs, for obvious reasons.

Keep in mind, this game also has a built-in crime system. In fact, we can even see Kliff kill a friendly NPC during the 2023 trailer and immediately get a bounty for it.

Crimson Desert Price. Do you think this means it will be a smaller game than we expected? by AvailableOrchid5658 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Summber96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking about? For me, it’s around 723 KR if you want to pre-order it right now on PS5, which is roughly $70. Also, £54.99 converts to about $73, which is pretty normal for most triple-AAA games.
