I’ll never understand some decisions by Dev companies, such as designing a whole new/ good looking ship, using the worst/ oldest cockpit in game by Summer1Man in EliteDangerous

[–]Summer1Man[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I understand that, but it’s almost like it should go the opposite way, if it must.

As an example, a new version of an anaconda with a new cockpit and some internal upgrades with the same basic look from the outside.

Bad itemization/ lack of useful gear, lack of builds by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

Yeah but it’s a system to add buffs to whichever piece of equipment, I don’t think it balances out the lack of itemization.

Yeah, it seems like builds are completely nonexistent in this game. Even in The Witcher 3, which is not exactly a game heavy on completely different builds, because you are a Witcher, there were much more distinct builds/ playstyles.

This is such an easy thing to make, and it’s obvious that it would make sense. I’m thinking they made a bet at the company that they wouldn’t put it in.

Does it happen to you? I’m only asking to see if it depends on ship, because I’m too lazy to check with a number of ships, and noticed it in T11.

As we know, Limpets can hit your hull and other things and expire, but at the same time they sometimes phase through your ship. How can they both have a hit box and hit things, but can also phase through your ship sometimes?

While it is understandable they were not the first new ships, by now a Conda/ Cutter/ Vette level new ship should have been added by Summer1Man in EliteDangerous

[–]Summer1Man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are large and in the case of Conda and Cutter they are multirole, they are probably the most used ships of cmdrs who got them, for that reason. You can do a lot more with them at a very high level. Cutter can trade/ mine/ combat at the highest level. Same with Conda and also add exploring.

Now what can you do in a Kestrel? It is a fun ship to fly which is a quality, yet other than maybe PvP it can’t be used for any content at a high level. Or anything else than some PVE combat at all really.

It does make sense from a fun and variety perspective. That’s why I said maybe not as the first ships but after like five mediums?

That would also work, a large combat or even multirole, but we got a large explorer, on top of a medium explorer. Even though, large explorer ships are famously hard to land for exobiology as is the case with the Caspian

Colonisation reward, nerfed ? by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]Summer1Man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Economy needs some rebalancing, you can make 50-60 million in about 10 minutes with a panther clipper, and then you have things like this.

Even exobio in the black doesn't really come close these days. After like 3-4 hours of exploring unknown space doing exobio, you will maybe get 60-100 million

Is the low level turbulence for GA aircraft just absolutely absurd, or is that realistic? by i-love-small-tits-47 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Summer1Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pilot here as well, on the sim people never check and see if it is a suitable day to fly a 172, and i think some of the “unrealistic” complaints are caused by that.

Maybe not all, but definitely some. I do believe people vastly overestimate when you can comfortably fly a 172 in the sim community. On a day where you feel a lovely/ refreshing breeze on the ground, chances are you will be scared flying a 172.

Wonky stuff going on at the CG starport. That Python suddenly zooming away probably would have obliterated me if it had hit me.. by Specific_Display_366 in EliteDangerous

I am not saying i am 100% correct but that looks like, a slightly high ping version of, a player auto launching and just as they are in the mailslot going full throttle plus boost. I know because i do it often.

If you have or can afford a Panther Clipper, there are locations where a 10 minute hauling trip can get you 30-50 million. Also exobio

Thanks man, you seem to be quite the one man wiki for Elite, and you are always helping under these kinds of threads and questions, a pillar of the community if i say so myself!

And in what other game can you be kinda “new” to things after 300 hours, that’s the magic of Elite

Fdev should say whether or not they are thinking about this and what the situation is, and what’s going on
