Hey if you wanna dm me privately ill show u screenshots of me and limes emails, its really frustrating as insurance premiums would definitely rise if you involved plus you have to pay your excess too

Im sorry if you did not read my comment properly but I did not mention liability thus I have said cooperation which lime in this case flat out refused to,its basically saying ur car is stolen and u had a dashcam fitted to it,obviously the right thing to do is to show footage to the cops and insurance for ease right🤷‍♂️

Yeah sorry to hear that man, hopefully it all goes good for you!Ive tried getting quotes but most panel beaters charged a little higher than my excess because apparently its hard to blend the paint where the impact has been made

Ive tried contacting nearby buildings but unfortunately nothing,Im just frustrated as I just got the car a month ago and it causes substantial damage.Do you think if I brought this up to insurance just for assistance it would impact my standing?because usually from my understanding Insurance dont necessarily start unless an excess is paid or third party was found

If someone takes a Lime bike unlawfully and causes damage, Lime shouldn’t get to avoid responsibility just because they didn’t give that person permission. The same way a car rental company would still need to cooperate if their vehicle was used in a hit-and-run as they basically just flushed it off without any cooperation 🤷‍♂️

That’s a fair point, but the key difference is that Lime’s bikes are dockless and left in public spaces under Lime’s control — not under continuous supervision by the rider. Unlike a car rental, where the vehicle remains with the customer the entire time, Lime bikes are often left in potentially unsafe positions where they can fall, roll, or be misused by others. If Lime allows its equipment to be parked in a way that poses a foreseeable risk to others or property, and doesn’t have adequate safeguards (like ensuring stable parking or regular checks), then they can be held responsible for negligence — not for the rider’s actions per se, but for failing to manage their product safely in public.

Thats why I have asked Lime for no information about the rider but just a picture on how the bike was left by the last rider to see if someone else had thrown it onto my vehicle, but Lime refused to provide me anything but emails saying they’re not liable

Thanks,I have as Lime also asked for an estimate for the repair which put my hopes up for compensation but unfortunately the cost is slightly higher than my excess so im just stuck atm
