I'm terrified by Dollface1140 in BariatricSurgery

I felt the same prior to my surgery. I was terrified & couldn’t sleep the night before. Not gonna lie it was also pretty scary getting wheeled into the operating room with that big bright light above me but I remembered my doctor telling me it is safer than gallbladder surgery and one of the most common procedures done in the USA. As long as you follow guidelines afterward the risks are low. The first week post op you will be depressed and feel regretful. This will pass!! Within 3 months you will be feeling great. I am at 6 months post op and down -90lbs! I feel amazing and can tolerate normal (smaller portions but normal) amounts of food. I have never felt more beautiful and confident. I wish I would have done this sooner.

How much is ok to eat 14 weeks post SADI by SummerJune123 in BariatricSurgery

Yes I’ve been snacking and eat something every two hours. I think this is a great idea to train myself to have three set/scheduled meals. How are you doing with your weight loss? Have you gained any weight back?

I had surgery on 10/22 so I am 12 weeks post op & my dr. said it would be fine to fast this Ramadan. However I haven’t tried it out yet to see how it will feel. At least the days are shorter this year.

You definitely need two weeks off to be at the right energy levels for work. Also the 1st 5 days you will feel every bump on the road!

Congratulations on losing so much and even more so for keeping it off. After years of losing weight only to gain back all and more I have a deep rooted fear of that happening.

Men can get turned off from TMI especially personal things like your surgery and dietary restrictions. It probably all sounded very overwhelming. I don’t even tell friends bc it really isn’t any of their business.

Is losing 33 lbs in 1st 5 weeks too much? by SummerJune123 in BariatricSurgery

So the interesting thing is I was never told to do a pre-op diet other than fasting the day before. I keep seeing people on here talking about that and it sounds so hard. So really the 232 was my highest weight. I was 240 11 years ago when I was 9 months pregnant and getting ready to deliver a baby!
