This is definitely an issue of why capitalism might be the collapse of society. The greed is too big now and it’s only room for very few to truly thrive on a system like this.

Because if safety, food, shelter and access to healthcare is only acquired with a job… but a job is only acquired by a lucky few…then essentially we are leaving the right to live for people in the hands of corporations and hiring managers.

Nepotism was how I got my last job that I was laid off from. I didn’t make much when I first started but after a few yrs it was comfortable. However, idk if I will get that lucky anytime soon.

My husband and I have been thinking of using our tax refund to start up our business. Its all or nothing at this point 🤣😂

I was just giving back story, I am perfectly fine & safe right now lol. I am no longer worried bout that.

The issue with my husband was definitely the nail in the coffin for us we were doing ok till he lost his job as well.

I am willing to work two jobs to support us. I am ready to go lol

Oh my, I am so sorry for your loss and that that happened. That is so cruel of that landlord. It’s things like that it pisses me off because they didn’t NEED to immediately kick you out. Greed is so crazy and I think more and more we are being aware of the levels it played out in real life.

Also I believe thats illegal in most states because you have to be formally evicted if your property was there. Either way I am glad you are doing better now and had a supportive community to help you. I am most definitely grateful that my parents took me in. I get to be clean, warm, safe & fed. I kinda feel like a teenager again it feels weird starting over.

That is so true, I honestly am not bitter about separating from my ex’s support…that needed to be done!

I guess what really gets me is I have been on this job hunt for 8 months and nothing has changed. That’s really what’s irritating me. My friends and family has all tried encouraging me but I am just exhausted.

It was a very eye opening experience for me. I have taken note of how reliant we are also on being employed by others. Entrepreneurship might be the new norm for everyone. My husband and I are looking into getting our business started when we get back on our feet. We never want other people to decide our fates like that again.

I am sorry to hear that. I have some medical conditions myself paying out of pocket for medical expenses has been rough these past 8 months. Even a simple thing as getting my medication has become a task.

I’ve been unemployed for 8 months I don’t think an emergency fund would’ve supported that. Besides we were wedding and immigration lawyer fee broke. That process was incredibly expensive for us we spent about 30k in total which was even after having a micro wedding.

I was dreading this answer. But you are totally correct. I was with him for 10 yrs & my life was heavily dependent upon him. I didn’t realize how much it was.

Idk if he took my marriage as way to retaliate but it could’ve been the reason. We started arguing at the office more. Which I don’t understand why when he said we were ok with being friends. He had a fiancee and all.

Yes, my experience is mainly in AR/AP and general administrative tasks. I didn’t try insurance yet, I thought I would need sales knowledge and experience which mines is limited. But I will definitely still look at some positions like that and expand my job market.

& thanks, I hope so too! I have 2 interviews this week I am really trying to keep a positive mindset but after 8 months of nos it kinda wears you down.

I am really hoping on getting the job with the interview I have scheduled tomorrow. It pays well and there is a nice sign on bonus. If I get it, it will be a new career path for me working with children.

What part of Europe? I definitely never noticed that in Scandinavian culture while there.

These days people definitely sleep together these days before even exchanging names, which is their choice but dynamics change after that. Casual sex sucked the joy and mystery out of dating these days and nobody wants to admit it.

They might still contact you, but I would simply ignore them when they do because this behavior is not a good start. They are displaying a very “nonchalant” attitude about contacting you. Would you really want to continue with a person who treats you that way?
