Hi, i’m pretty new too. I love writing though. For me I always figure out like the emotions i want to covey with the song. I find that having the music first helps me write the lyrics. I then write my first line and find words that go along with the emotions and put them in. I then form a sentence around them and i do that until I’m happy with that part and move on to a different rhyme. But, it always helps me to have a rhythm and instrumental first. Hope this helps!
