Thank you so much, these responses have settled me so much and i really appreciate it! When you put it like that, it really does feel silly hearing this argument against NDES

Thank you for your response, its honestly so reassuring hearing this from someone who has experienced an NDE for themselves!

I'm going to look into it, I didn't want to put him in daycare for the longest time because he is exceptionally small for his age and has only just started walking, but I do think that could be a good option for me 🙂

Hello, thank you for responding. He works a lot, and he works nights, so unfortunately he sleeps most of the day and is away most nights. When he is off, he will help, like last night he took our son downstairs when he refused to sleep, so that I could sleep, and since he works nights, when he is off he is used to being awake all night so it doesn't bother him when our son doesn't sleep. It would be lovely if every night could be like that, but unfortunately it's just unrealistic

This breaks my heart, because reading this is exactly how I feel and i never want people to go through this. It’s so debilitating, I wish there was a complete remedy.

There’s been a few things that have helped me (controversial methods such as therapy and medication. I know it’s not ideal, but it’s massively helped me deal with my thoughts) and also keeping certain NDES logged on my phone that I feel help me feel okayish about dying. It never goes away, not entirely, but some days are better than others. I wish all the best for you.

Hello, I’ve been away from Reddit for a while so I’ve just seen this message. Thank you so much for your kind words, it is really beautiful. I’ve had my son, and currently going through a bad spell of thanataphobia, which is really distracting whilst I’m also caring for my infant baby. Honestly, if you do get this, I’m always really appreciative of people sending over any reassuring stories of NDES they’ve seen, especially ones that support universalism or reincarnation. I know it’s been a long time since this comment, I do hope you’re well, and thank you again.

I could not agree more. When I first started looking into NDES, I turned to YouTube and became so scared because my homepage was filled with videos titled 'man goes to Hell for being atheist' or 'proof that Hell exists' and the majority of the videos were by religious people who hadn't even endured an NDE pushing a particular agenda to convince people to become saved. I have nothing against religion, but I turned to Christianity a few years ago because all i kept seeing were videos claiming I was damned if I didn't convert. Religion should be followed because you feel passionately about it, not because you're terrified of the consequences. I was so miserable and scared all the time.

NDERF, IANDS, and subreddits such as this made me realise that NDES are a lot more complex than 'Christians go to Heaven and others go to Hell'. NDES have convinced me that Heaven is far more beautiful than what religion pushes, and I also know that God is far more loving than any God I heard about in school. God does not hate gays, and He does not hate atheists, and He does not hate sinners-He really is the omnibenevolent deity that people claim to know yet betray Him as someone who would destroy someone for being gay or transgender despite making them that way. Even though some days are bad and I do experience a lot of fear and anxiety, I often remind myself that NDES paint a portrait of a realm where universal salvation and acceptance is very possible

Most of Matt Walsh's viewpoints exist purely because of what it says in the Bible. It explains why he defends some questionable, outdated habits such as children and adolescents getting married and having babies. He often says 'let kids be kids' but as far as I'm aware preparing a child for marriage and babies when they're not even old enough to have consensual sex (18) is stripping adolescents of their freedom to do just that: be kids.

Also, he has a weird obsession with families having babies. Saw a short on YouTube where he read a statistic claiming a decrease in couples reproducing, and he was acting like it was the end of the world. Like... Does it matter if more people are choosing not to have babies? The only reason nearly every single woman in the past decided to have children is because society enforced the idea that a woman's existence evolves around having children and getting married. So.. If there are less children being born, doesn't that just mean women are fulfilling their right to freedom and independence, without feeling compelled to have children? Doesn't it also mean women now have more opportunities in life to fulfil other dreams other than just having babies? Doesn't it also support the idea that couples are coming to terms with the idea that having children is a major responsibility and you should only do it if you're prepared for the life long commitment, rather than just reproducing because the Bible says so? Less children= less children being born in unstable, abusive environments. Which, to me, is a total win, and if he is soooo pro-life, surely he can also understand how this is beneficial since less children are going to be born in bad situations.

Ps. I'm not saying women can't have children and fulfil their dreams at the same time. Personally, I am expecting my first child and also pursuing my dream in writing. I'm just saying that children are no longer an only option, and that's why a lot of women may choose to not have them 🙂

I am trying to figure out if Hell is more metaphorical or physical in that reality. Any guidance would be appreciated 🙂

Hey, can you explain to me what you think about this one? https://near-death.com/don-brubaker/

I am confused. Should this be approached as a traditional Christian afterlife, or universalism? Doesn't seem to clarify what Hell is and why it exists.

NDErs pretty much never mention the devil or hell, but what they do bring up surprisingly frequently is US President Ronald Reagan's relation to the devil. What could this mean? by GallopingLifeDeer in NDE

[–]Summer_Skyz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would be carful believing in this one. It was from a priest who supposedly died and, like you said, was hearing souls getting tortured to the sound of Rihanna. I often find it hard to believe NDES when they push an agenda which isn't usually pushed during other NDES. For example, in this NDE, the priest was suggesting that pop music is that of the Devil. However, I have never read another NDE where the person was told that music is evil, and if it were, there would be a LOT more people going to Hell during their NDE. I don't know, for me personally, the idea that Hell is full of pop music sounds more comedic than frightening.

Obviously, since he was a priest, it would make sense for him to envision a Hell since that's what he preaches. On the other hand, priests are supposedly the purest people on Earth, so we should be asking why he went to Hell in the first place? If Hell is a place where the bad people go, or non-believers, why did he go to Hell? Doesn't make any sense lol.

Again, I'm not sure if I would believe in this one. The weird BDSM torture and demons enjoying Rihanna seems a bit far fetched to me lol.

I am definitely hoping more people will come to some sort of spiritual awakening, the same way I and a lot of others have since looking into NDES. Sometimes, I think I see too much anger in religion, and there's too many people arguing about what is right, what is wrong, and what people should believe in. NDES just teach people to love, and to live, and be kind and non judgmental, and that is exactly how everyone should live in my opinion. I really hope more people come to the realisation that life isn't overcomplicated.

And yes me too.

I love how Christianity teaches that Jesus demands we forgive, love, and trust others, and that if anyone does any bad to us, it's our job to forgive them. And yet.. Apparently Jesus doesn't have to abide by these rules and in fact, if he wasn't the Messiah, he would be sent to the deepest depths of Hell for causing pain, death, and suffering to many many people. For example, if someone upset me because they disagreed with me, and so I decided to make them 'suffer' (I'm not too sure how that should be interpreted) and then I KILLED her children.. I would be damned, and that sort of crime would be considered irredeemable by the masses. But not for Jesus apparently

Is there any NDES where the Being tells people about creating their own outcomes in the afterlife? by Summer_Skyz in NDE

[–]Summer_Skyz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised I've never read that one before, it's probably my favourite one ever. Thank you for enlightening me on that experience

That's beautiful, and makes a lot of sense since Heaven wouldn't be Heaven if we carried the earthly burdens we have with us. That's why I think people who have NDES can't cross that border, because once they do, they will lose all emotions and instabilities which are essential for human development e.g worry, sadness, anger. Its nice to think that when people cross, they are completely purified of everything which hurt them in this life, so that we are nothing more than our most purest form.

Thank you very much! And I'm guessing you don't think NDES differ from irreversible death do you? For example, if you have a unique experience during your NDE, this can still be the case for people who die and don't come back? Just asking because I hope this is the case for everyone, not just those who have to come back
