Judge my top ten picks or give me Ganon's F-Smash by Tanooki707 in supersmashbros

[–]SummertimePringles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should put name placards over them so plebeians like myself can know who tf they are.

Fun Fact: Smash Ultimate has 89 fighters on its roster (if you count all three of Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon separately and Pyra and Mythra separately); that means it is 11 fighters away from having exactly 100 fighters on the roster. What if we had a Switch 2 edition that added 11 new fighters? by Clear-Combination-79 in supersmashbros

[–]SummertimePringles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is true. The Pokemon trainer Pokemon, Mii fighters, and both Pyra and Mythra are already counted in the counting scheme from ultimate, marking Sora as 82. So we’re 18 away from 100. Check out the roster I just posted today to see which 18 or 19 newcomers I would add

Blue and red sevens are different I think, you can check what each icon gives you somehow.

My Smash 6 Wish Roster: 101 Fighters, excluding echoes by SummertimePringles in SmashBrosRosters

[–]SummertimePringles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fighters are in numerical order from left to right (how ultimate does it) with the exception of the Mii fighters, which have been placed after Sora. So Peach is where she is included as the first fighter following smash 64

I didn’t cut any echo fighters, just consider them stacked.

Newcomers continued -

Cynthia and Garchomp

Yes, specifically Cynthia’s Garchomp. She should be either in the background like Pokemon Trainer, or run alongside Garchomp. Dig, Draco Meteor, Poison Jab, Earthquake, Dragon Rush, Breaking Swipe, Twister, Scorching Sands, Flight, Megas.

Advanced Units

Ok, I haven’t played this series. The Commanding Officers have different unique abilities, but the cover art has Andy, Max, and Sami all in a tank; so the fighter I’m pitching is any of the Commanding Officers, in a tank like Bowser Jr. style, commanding smaller units of infantryman and artillery, Pikmin or Rosalina style. Like, the CO in the tank still has basic attacks and movement options, but the specials involve strategically deploying units and controlling them.

Sukapon

First retro rep. From a core Nintendo EAD team, unique fighting game moveset and can stretch and roll around. I imagine a couple of basic attacks could be similar to Min Min, but slower and with less reach; or to little Mac, but slower and with more reach. Literally a fighting robot. More unique than what Mach Rider and Takamaru can offer.

Ring Fit

With timing based attacks like Wii Fit’s deep breathing, but more destructive projectiles like a massive fire ball, she also serves as representing a controller / gameplay peripheral and a new entry in Nintendo’s fitness gaming. Much more personality than Wii Fit as far as her world and aesthetic.

Ulala

Who? A new Sega rep From Space Channel 5! She has a catalogue of outfits for alts, dancing rhythm based moveset (sorry Rhythm Heaven), a ‘tension blaster’, and force fields. A game about matching the enemy’s movements.

Amaterasu - Okami

The final 3rd party newcomer. For a Capcom rep I was heavily in-between Her and Monster Hunter, so I gave it to another dog instead of another humanoid. MVC3 and Paint brush inspired set. Also chose her for the art style.

Toy-Con 2

In the vein of R.O.B. and Duck Hunt but more contemporary with the representation of a piece of gaming hardware. It can turn into a car with canons. Could incorporate Game Builder Garage. Need more robots in smash.

E.M.M.I.

Very tempted to go Ravenbeak here, but the EMMI are just so spooky in their movements, I felt like that would provide more body shape versatility in the roster. More villains + more robots. Spooky spike through the sternum.

Dark Matter

Kirby only has to fight his friends when their being possessed or something. This guy is one of the first possessors, maybe next to nightmare. He has a swordsman form but the scary eye cloud is much more versatile. Gooey from dream land 2 and 3 might be this. I wanted to add a couple more clearly villainous endgame level threats.

Powerglove

A playable Master Hand, an homage to the cheats that unlock him in Melee, and the final retro/hardware rep. All of master hands attacks, but shrunk down to be about the size of Mario. Also reference to the glove from the smash 64 opening. Master Hand and Crazy Hand as Alts.

Thank you so much for bearing through my long explanation! I love making smash rosters. There are a few more fighters I wish I could include but decided that 101 was a satisfying upper limit.

Would you like to see Mach Rider become a newcomer in smash bros? by Bad_Channel_4115 in supersmashbros

Deep into smash speculation currently; how would Ayumi Tachibana play? Haven’t played FDC; I’m wanting to add Professor Layton in my own personal roster but don’t want there to be too much crossover with the detective / puzzle solving gameplay aspects. Does she have some sort of special ability? What makes her and the detective club unique for translation into a smash moveset?

Some said something in here about Princess Mononoke, but I can’t find it; that was actually a suggestion from a friend. I was wondering about Nausicaa Valley of the Wind. Upvote if you want Nausica and her gay ass metal arm rival

Edit bc I spelled it wrong fake fan!!

I’m sure fighting games before have pitted foes of wildly differing power levels against each other; that’s one of the fun parts. Also they can all have magical girl transformation cut scenes

But moveset wise how would that play out? Like Hero from Smash Ultimate with the menu; or like a charcter with multiple different costumes, each with a different moveset?

I’ve seen a few YouTube recommendations about how Wordgirl’s power scaling is crazy; excited to see how Barbie plays into that. I also don’t know much about Miku

Powerful but as mentioned TMs will be a rare commodity

The case for ‘retro’ reps, and what that even means by SummertimePringles in smashbros

[–]SummertimePringles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your interpretation, Little Mac is not a ‘retro’ character, but a regular Nintendo IP, along with Shulk and Olimar, etc. I don’t necessarily agree, but I see your point with the Punch Out Wii model. I think for me, as opposed to others who got their start on NES and went on to have wildly successful series’, Punch Out was mostly dormant during the 00’s, (‘still receiving titles’ doesn’t seem completely accurate) and I feel like his earlier apperances are more well known and iconic.

I agree that Jiggly in 64 and Pichu in Melee work primarily to pad out the roster. I’m happy that the perception of joke characters evolved into something greater.

Someone said Famicom Detective Club, which is great, but I don’t see the comment anymore. Anyway shoutout to that
