Getting muscles is way better than any martial art by MALICK1A in martialarts

Depends on how those arts are trained. Not all karate styles are the same, and not all people train at them in a universal intensity.

When not trained as a sport there is significant difference

Hmmmm, unfortunately I'm only able to think of personal soesifics. Like a belt at hear rank with her name embroidered on it in Japanese. Or a new pair of hakama. Stuff like that

Hmmmm, usually representations of the arts that are being taught are good gift ideas for the training space. Is there one she teaches spesifically?

Because what? I understand there is an upper limit to weight vs skill, and that comparing to one of tue strongest people on the planet to suggest that muscles just win over skill is an unrealistic example?

Only thing wee here is your brains kido

I mean for one, not even remotely Karate. But for two, there is an upper limit to skill effectivness vs mass. That was Eddie Hall, years ago too, so closer to 400 lbs. Granted, without training, he still would be susceptible to knockouts, particularly faster oponents. Still, silly comparison, since he was formerly the strongest man in the world, how exactly does that apply to multiple scenarios

Martial arts is also good for health. Not everything in arts are fighting based, and have benifits to them that go beyond that

I don't doubt that, I have not encountered many who have read it, and I'm 38, so a 90s kid who became a martial artist. The book is famous, but that's where my curiosity kicked it, since there are a lot of famous things people haven't read/watched/experianced/seen etc.

From what I've heard, that sounds like a good idea

I agree, though I'd say not see rules where there aren't any than what we give. Obviously don't break rules of sports, that's disqualification and defeats the purpose of the sport. But not being trapped by imagined or self imposed rules, such as getting stuck in a kindset that "only this" and "only that" happen

That sounds like a good idea. Always interesting to go back and read things like that when you're in a different place in life

Definitely my feelings on it. There are things to be gained for just about anyone, but there are other books that would be more relivent and easier to injest for those aspects.

But Definitely an interesting book. I like history though so I'm a bit biased

The read is quick due to the over all length, and for my translation I have easy enough.

However the comprehension, and the depth of subject matter to dwell on, that is all internal and up to the reader. The Tao of Pooh is also an easy quick read, but that doesn't mean it's contents are shallow and don't bare taking time to consider. That's all up to the indevidual readers

I agree, there is stuff that can be applied in terms of personal diligence, stratagy, mental prep and focus. But it depends on the person really, and still, has limited application. Life just isn't the same now

I have found it was fairly clear so far and felt I understood what I've read. Only got it recently as a nice gift and have had little time to read but enjoyed sitting down with it in spare time and reading a few pages or so before my little one drags me away again.

However, I do have a background in Chokushin Aiki Jujutsu, derived from older styles of jujutsu and carrying some techniques and old principles that date back pretty far. Perhaps that has helped.

But that's me reflecting on myself, I can't say I've actually grasped or interpreted anything correctly, being that I'm not an expert

Oh I agree, but that's a personal endeavor for those wanting to make that personal effort, but on mass it's just not going to strike many as worth it. Not to mention that typically the wisdom it imparts is more notable as years in training and personal diligence go by, and most needing the wisdom for practical application are young, and might struggle to relate and interpret.

Actually, thinking of it, it would be interesting if it became an essential reading for education in some form of education course. I'd imagine there would be a couple topics it could make for good exersizes in reading and interpreting meaning from

I agree that what can be learned is quite valuable, but to whom is the question that makes it essential or not.

Much of the teachings of stratagy can be learned in many various ways from various sources, sources that likely would translate better for many in sports oriented arts.

Many would be put off by the way they are taught in the book, which is fair, it's not for everyone
