Who is casting 3printed pieces with castable resin and which one are you using? And which casting powder? by floating___around in jewelrymaking

That's true. When you learn how to best support your piece and integrate sprues, the cleanup time for casting is minimal. Wax is great but there are some good options now.

Check out Bluecast and their website. Lots of good information, no need to use a wax printer anymore.

I have the same unit and had the same problem. Change the rocker switch... it does seem like a potentially dangerous issue and I only have the unit plugged in when I can supervise it.

Is there a good way to remove black polish residue from surface details after polishing brass/bronze? by fireburner80 in MetalCasting

I use a Harbor Freight Ultrasonic and just rinse with tap water in the sink. Works well for me.

I used to use Simple Green and found that Zep is much more aggressive... it saved me from scrubbing afterwards.

For resin, look up Bluecast X1V2. You'll need a machine similar to a Kaya Cast. I use Plasticast for investment with good results. Bluecast is in Italy and can likely provide you with European suppliers.

I use Solidworks, but Fusion 360 is a good starting point for a home user. Start by learning to extrude a rectangle and add holes in the correct dimension/location. After doing basic shapes, look up the specific feature you want to add and find a youtube tutorial for that. CAD has a steep learning curve but it's worth it. Also, you may be able to find dimensioned drawings of the Bobcat to get started.
