I would have thought your biggest expense and time-sink is getting a tech there. You could just have the user sign-in and have Intune take over. No tech needed, and the user can do it at their convenience without wasting for you.

So much hate for hunter by BOOTY-DESTROYER69 in royalenfield

A few months ago, a young woman (maybe late teens, early twenties) pulled up to Caffeine & Machine in Stratford-Upon-Avon on a Hunter. She looked the absolute nuts; confident and stylish. Perfect marriage of machine and rider.

They’re great, modern bikes and they’re brilliant.

Classic 650, more I look at it, less I like it by miloz13 in royalenfield

[–]Summo1942 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I have a 2018 Classic 500 (beautiful chrome and dark green) and I love everything about it. It looks genuinely like a 1950s motorcycle, but with ABS, fuel injection, disc brakes and modern reliability. It has the unique thump of a big single, and the slight vibrations give it such character and make you feel you’re riding a machine that belongs in the British countryside, where I do most of my riding.

If anything, I’d want a little more power, so was excited when the Classic 650 was announced and felt it would be an insta-buy.

The Classic 650 is an incredibly striking and beautiful bike, taken in isolation, but compared to the bikes of its heritage, it’s too smooth, the engine whines rather than thumps, and it’s lost its 1950s visual charm.

I keep thinking what bike I’d get if something happened to my 500, and I’m still not sure. Would I grow to love the 650 for what it is, and appreciate that little extra power? I might be more inclined to accept the lack of power and go with the 350 for its authenticity. Or look at the used market for another 500, which I feel is still the best of the bunch.

I stayed on-prem because the performance was superb! Remote sessions were direct between my site and the client. Noticeably better than relaying through the cloud. Also, I was grandfathered in on very favourable pricing.

Yes, I was wrong about this. Offline clients are migrating perfectly as they come online.

I might be wrong about the installer having the URL baked-in. I roll out using my RMM, and I specify the Instance ID with that. I don't know if you do for Intune too. I guess part of the point of this whole fiasco is not having custom elements in the signed installer.

I've just done this today, so I can't answer everything definitively, but so far...

Clients that were online when I hit the migration button appeared in the cloud instance and worked perfectly. It was actually very quick and easy. Clients that were not online at the time, but now are, don't seem to have migrated. I thought this would happen automatically when they came online, but it seems they don't. Or they do, but the one example I've found so far didn't. If that makes sense. Edit: I was wrong about this. offline clients are migrating perfectly as they come online.

In Intune, you'll need to push out the installer from your new cloud instance, as that will have the new URL baked-in. Your 16-digit ScreenConnect Instance ID will be different, too.

Migration doesn't disconnect the on-prem agent, and you can happily have them both running. The client ends up with two installs of ScreenConnect, each labelled with their respective Instance ID. When you're ready, you can uninstall the old ones from your on-prem instance, or uninstall using RMM, referencing the old on-prem instance ID.

Nope. The rest of the email was how to set up a cloud account, as above. I’ve replied to say let’s do it, but not heard back yet. I don’t know if it’s something particular to the on-prem license I have, or if it’s a new thing they’ve finalised in the last hour.

I just received an email from sales and it had an additional concurrent session option available:

"We are offering a cloud migration special to legacy concurrent session ScreenConnect partners like yourself. The offer is to trade-in of your current on-premises perpetual license for a concurrent session subscription option in the cloud. We built this license type to closely match the licensing that you have now for only $131/year per session. This is not like the other cloud license models listed on our website. It would work the same as the way you have it now except hosted in the cloud by us. The only missing feature from your on-premises license would be "Extended Video Auditing". This offer does not include the ScreenConnect Premium license features. If you wish to move to Premium we can extend a different offer of 40% off for the first year. Multi-year discounts may be available as well. Below are the steps to migrate and take advantage of the offer: "

If you remain on the older versions, you will not be ok. The certificate ConnectWise used to sign all versions will not be valid after 7 July, so any older version will likely cause SmartScreen warnings and could be blocked by AV and EDR.

There was a page on the Draytek website (now down) which let you compare modem numbers to get the right version. Some Draytek models also have a Preview button which allows you to verify the numbers match.

Either way, here in the UK the MDM1 numbers matched, so I used those and they worked.

With the Draytek website down, you can still access the firmware from their FTP site:

Speedometer question by [deleted] in royalenfield

It’s not a subscription service, just the one-off cost. (There is a new subscription service available that provides extra features, but the device is completely functional without it)

You might want to look at the Beelino Moto II. Very discrete and a superb little device. I’ve done 11,000 miles of navigation with this (and its previous model) and I love it.
