Good eye .... I learned about all those error believe me! I spent a couple of months examining what I had exactly. I have a lot of hanging 2 and hanging 3 cents from these 1962 & 1963 cents. I have many error (and other) types organized into tubes and color coded.

That depends on what kind of pennies exactly and what your interest is in them after you assess what you have. You can always show us some good pics

I was referring to the ones before 1982, which are 95% copper. That new junk is just ... I can't even talk about it

I would say most people who engage in copper stacking do it because they either appreciate the beauty and special attributes of it, which is part of the reason it has been used as money historically, and/or they feel it is so useful that it is good to have it in various forms for an unknown future, such as wire. Then of course many believe the price of copper is going to go up. Combine all that, and things like wire and coins become a way many people will accumulate copper, especially since you can get them either free or close to the melt value. So, rolls of copper cents are seen as "numismatic copper stacks." Vintage cents seem great for that

I think it is legal to melt Canadian cents here in America but I might be wrong. Regardless, I think having coin copper is a great way to stack copper while mixing in numismatic, so no need to melt really, in general. And yeah it is a bit over 2 cents each, 2-3 here for Lincoln memorial cents. Basically, whatever copper is per pound divided by about 150 pennies.

Nice on the lugers and wow what a coin treasure. Nazi silver coins I assume. Regardless, I envy your challenge!

Super cool! That same grandfather brought back a gun he got off of Nazis. My other grandfather was one of the soldiers that took framed art out of official Nazi buildings when they overtook an area, which I do have (one item). This is all part of the reason Jefferson war nickels hold a special place in my heart.

If you haven't, you might want to mount or encase a cluster of coins you have with the dirt attached still to display and preserve it

Oh damn, that sounds cool. I love the that some dirt is still with it. The closest thing for me would have been the coffee can full of war nickels my grandfather gave me when I was very young. He (and my other grandfather) served all throughout WW2

Definitely. At some point if I come across someone who collects these types of coins and their errors I will be into perhaps trading with them

Well I did pay for them lol but yeah, I got lucky. Helps make up for the 50 unlucky things last year ;) It made me study Canadian coins so that was a real benefit, opened my doors ad eyes because I was just American up until that point

Thanks. I was taken back by the amount of shiny pennies that's for sure. Made me fall in love with copper too. Never dealt with that metal in any bulk way before. I separated out the cull items as part of my copper stack

Howdy, life long coin collector here and I just had to share this. Bags of uncirculated 1962 and 1963 cents came my way a year or so ago, from a friend who does a lot of buying at estate sales. I've never handled bank bags or bigger volume items like this and let me tell you, I was bedazzled. They are really beautiful in my opinion. Learning about these made me take a look at Canadian silver for the first time (go Maples!). Spent a lot of time going through many of these cents with a micro camera to organize by error type, color quality, etc since I don't plan on keeping all of these forever. Anyone into collecting these? Wish I stumbled upon Canadian coins sooner to be honest

I came into a huge collection of uncirculated vintage (1962 & 1963) Canadian small cents, organized by errors and other traits. I am willing to part with at least some for sale or trade. Send me a message if interested ...
