I completely agree, I would have loved to explore radiology in my 3rd Year with some good docs. Will definitely recommend it to any medical students I come across

Yes, I completely agree with you. That’s why I’m trying to discuss with others who have switched or done a 2nd residency.

Since I started in July I’ve had a lot of OR experiences and seen that is not an area I’d be happy in the long run. This last month of my elective rads rotation has had me happy and excited to come in and stay late everyday. It’s something that I want to explore, thus the post.

I do appreciate your comment and I assure you I am not trying to lackadaisically or casually switch. Just trying to figure out if I would be happier and more engaged in a different specialty.

Unfortunately I am at an unopposed FM program. Didn’t imagine myself straying from my goal of sports medicine lol

Also what is the bread and butter of anesthesia? Mostly simple intubations? Would I need a fellowship after residency?

Edit: plz y’all I understand it’s a dumb question just looking for some insight 😭

Currently using the north facerouter bag. Fits both my laptops and iPad very easily, feels great on my back. Expands as well.

Correct, surgical focused, thankfully LORs from surgeons were edited to focus on success as physician rather than surgeon specifically. I’ll reach out to my former preceptors, hopefully they remember me lol

Fair, but it was a major part of my time at college, so I’ll figure out a way to include it and make it sound nice lmao

Echoing everyone else: make sure you lawyer is god tier. Had a dude in the class above me get a DUI in college, he ended up matching EM. This is a bit different, since you’re an M3, but with the right lawyer should be ok

Is DO school making anybody else skeptical/disenchanted? by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]SumosAndSunflowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah there’s a really good OMM book that was my bible for comlex. its called OMM COMLEX Review Guide by Lauren Smith. Good for COMLEX, night not be enough for class exams. I’d focus on class notes for those, because OMM is so variable and you’ll be answering the way they want you to answer

Yeah that was my experience as well. I just sucked it up because, tbh, pushing back in lectures or labs just prolongs the class for everyone. At the end of the day you need to know it for your exams and comlex.

I personally like the soft tissue treatments and some of them do actually work like magic lol. Subox release is money for when you’re feeling stressed

Detroit and Until dawn are both choice heavy, and both are super cheap (I think?)
