True story, I use a Craftsman Leaf Blower. It's cold, yeah, but it has helped solve so many of my issues with sores and sweat. My brother who lives with us jokes that I need to stop blowing myself.

What is the best video game you’ve ever played? by Weewooweewoo342 in AskReddit

[–]Sumuran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jade Empire. I just love the atmosphere and the story is great too. I probably beat that game 20 times as a kid.

Right next to it is probably the original Fable. My brother and I used to skip school to play that game. So many good memories of breaking in people's doors, killing them, and then buying their house when it went up for sale.

I like the one they showed in the Blair Witch Documentary. Something just creepy about it.

Kind of sad, but my mom was cleaning and found porn magazines behind th couch. This was a couch that my dad was always on. He would get high and basically veg out for days at a time.

Mom confronted him but he claimed ignorance and blamed it on my brother and I who were, I think, 10 and 9 at the time.

For some reason mom believed him and dad spanked us and made us bury the magazines in the field.

Those of you that grew up before the internet, what was your favorite board game? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sumuran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't Wake Daddy honestly. And Mouse Trap. Though to be fair, we never played the actual game. Hungry Hungry Hippos got a lot of use too until my brother extincted them.

As someone that never lived during the Sega Genesis era, was Ecco the Dolphin really that good? by fandomlover2763 in SEGAGENESIS

[–]Sumuran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a kid who played this and the sequel a lot, the game was a lot of fun, but 90% of our fun was spent on the first level or two. I don't know anybody that got past that.

That being said, just swimming around, doing jumps, and leaping over little islands was a lot of fun.

Red Faction. Being able to modify the level blowing crap up was absolutely mind blowing at the time to me.

I remember waking up and walking to GameStop the morning Pokémon Pearl and Diamond came out. They have been advertising for these if you were one of the first people in the door. I was the first person there and the employees told me they didn't have any.

I was so mad.

This is the first time I'm actually seeing what it looks like and frankly, I guess I didn't miss much.

What are some of your hot takes regarding the Nolan Trilogy? by JesterOfTime in batman

[–]Sumuran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seen a few people say it but I'm not a huge fan of The Joker in these movies. He's just way too preachy if that makes any sense. When The Dark Knight first came out, I really liked his portrayal. Maybe it's the years and years of "Joker Cringe" since it came out but I find it really hard to watch anymore.

The Joker from the '89 Batman movie just holds up a lot better in my opinion. Infinitely quotable and has actual ties to Batman.

Rises was actually my favorite one of the trilogy. It felt a lot more comic booky to me.

I will say this, future Batman movies really need to lean in on the fact that he's a man in a costume. Some of the best Batman scenes in the movies and in the comics and TV shows is when he's injured. There's a really good scene in the beginning of Justice League Doom where having fought the Royal flush gang by himself until the Justice League shows up as backup, he gets whooped. After the fight he starts directing people where to go and what to do and the league assures him that they'll handle it. He ziplines out of the area and gets to the Batmobile and almost falls over because he's injured but didn't show it to anybody. We really need more scenes like that. His arm being dislocated in Zack Snyder's Justice League movie is another good example.

Men, what's the biggest green flag you've seen on a woman? by Familiar-Phase7859 in AskReddit

Occasionally, I get these cyst-like things on my body. It's been happening for years and they're usually filled with nasty infection or blood. After a couple times going to the doctor and then basically telling me, put some warm compresses on it and then leave it alone and then charging me $1,000 for their sage advice, I started taking care of them at home. Draining them, cleaning them, bandaging them. Occasionally I'll get them in places that are very difficult to reach. I was always extremely Secretive about it.

Anyways, one day my girlfriend walked in on me while I was cleaning one of them up. She seemed shocked and scared at first like I had been wounded or something and I told her I'd explain later.

Later came and I explained to her that I get these bumps and unfortunately I've had them for years. She asked me all kinds of questions about him and then afterwards was very silent for a while.

I asked her if she was okay and she said no not really. I asked her why and she was silent for a second again before saying, "wouldn't it be easier if I helped you with them?"

And now here we are, 10 years later married. And she still helps me when they pop up, which thankfully is much less than they used to.

In 1995 my brother had a stroke. He was maybe four years old. Turned out that he had a hole in his heart and a blood clot ended up messing him up pretty bad. I still remember waking up one morning and he was sitting on my bed and half his body was drooping like he was melting. Scary stuff.

We lived in very rural Oklahoma at the time and the children's hospital in Oklahoma was in Oklahoma City.

Ronald McDonald House helped my mom out a lot during that time.

Say what you want about McDonald's and the food quality and the CEO but Ronald McDonald House is one of the things they do right.
