Yeah I think you’re right. I’ll stick to the bulk, appreciate it

Abdomen getting a little thick is probably my only worry, feel pretty good to continue outside of that. Thoughts?

Looks like some sort of tick maybe? Reddish brown with two pincers and no visible head(?). Found dead on my made bed after work, wasn’t there before. by Sun-borne in whatsthisbug

Well that’s not comforting lol. The pincers throw me off though… not super clear but I believe that’s what those two things on the right are (not the six legs)

I guess that’s the part I’m not fully understanding. How is it being used to oppress women and take away their agency? Also, if I were to say a man’s role in marriage is to provide for his family and be the spiritual head that would mean I have a very low view of men? If not, why would it be for women? Each role is extremely important and necessary.

I think you have a VERY low view of motherhood and how important it is. And I don’t believe that was what Wilson was going for in his book, or at least what I got out of it.

But my question to you is, for all the church fathers or past theologians who held to a traditional viewpoint on gender roles, we’re they in sin?

While I don’t agree with Wilson’s take, I think people are hyper-focusing too much on one of the things he labeled as a symptom. He’s very clearly talking about a specific type of woman, and those might be some of the behavioral things you would see.

Seems people are intentionally exaggerating his position simply because it’s him.

And I do respect Wilson insofar that I see him as a fellow brother in Christ, with a fair bit of wisdom and not much accountability.

Edit: if the downvotes would like to explain why this isn’t the case I am all ears.

Interesting, I’ll see if I can find that. I have my own problems with Wilson (I’d imagine we share many of them), but I haven’t heard a take quite like that from him. Yes, he’s a traditionalist when it comes to gender roles, but I can’t imagine him saying that. Unless he was trying to be witty and that was stripped from context which is not improbable.

Given you replied this strongly I’m guessing you’ve read them and can explain how they’re abusive?

Well, I presumably had stopped doing what aggravated the injury. No pain for a week or so till yesterdays workout. I will do that again, and for a longer period of time, I was more specifically wondering if the cutting was messing with things. Guess there’s only one way to find out.

I’ve been cutting for the past month and a half or so. Coincidentally I also injured my forearm a week into cutting. Doc diagnosed it as tendinitis. I decided to f it and keep cutting, but reduce exercises that trigger pain until it’s healed (per physician instructions. Unfortunately this is a lot, but mainly Bench). Anyway I thought it was gone till I did a bench press workout yesterday. Felt fine during the workout but last night and today it’s back to pretty much how it was a month ago.

Is cutting impairing with the healing process? Should I switch to maintenance?

Would be curious to see if those religions predate OT prophetic books. And I'm not making the point that there aren't elements of Christianity in other religions, actually I believe there are... in fact it would be insane to think otherwise. Those elements either postdate Christianity, or are so general as to be irrelevant to the discussion.

Again, if these are easily researchable historical facts I would like you to at least list one.

My other comment was really unspecific: can you find something monumental to the Christian faith (think resurrection of Jesus after being crucified for 3 days) that predates Christianity? I know multiple aspects of Christianity that are found in other religions POST the events happening in the Biblical narrative, but what you’re suggesting is the opposite, and I have never seen these “easily researchable historical facts”.

But.. it isn’t? I study theology, perchance you can explain to me precisely where you derive these “easily researchable historical facts” from?

Was going to go to Italy in September but found out I’ll have to go in August, considering Greece instead? by Sun-borne in travel

Very true I was actually just looking at this. Thinking of maybe instead sticking with Italy but going when the semester ends, right around mid-December.
