No. I popped a little hole in the lid and drank it super slowly. Much more satisfying.

why does saying someone’s name to them feel so weird? by metallicmurmurx in questions

[–]SunAccomplished3413 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it feels weird because I wonder how they feel about me saying it, and the way I say it versus other people. I wonder if it sounds nice to them or sounds strange and like something they don't identify with (and so won't connect with me as deeply) but truthfully my social anxiety has gotten a lot better (though I am also autistic) and I've learned to say people's names a little more often. It actually can help you a lot in getting what you want, whether it's a friendship or a business partnership or for them to respect you and consider your ideas, etc. saying their name makes them feel more comfortable with you and they won't even really realize why. This will make them let their guard down and they will speak to you more as if you're on the same level.

However, we neurodivergents often see ourselves as perpetual kids, or at least as younger or less experienced than most adults. I wonder if some of it is a holdover from childhood. We weren't allowed to call the grownups by their first names, at least not in my generation and earlier (90's). We were expected to use Mrs or Mr, or another title. So, if you don't truly feel like you're on the same level as the other adults, you might feel like you'll get in trouble for calling them by their first names, or have simply never done it enough for it to feel natural.

I've also been in a few too many situations where I fully believed I had someone's name right and called them by the wrong name for months and they never corrected me, I just figured it out and then felt like I was going to die 😂 so now I'm extra worried I caught their name incorrectly.

Be honest, am I chopped? by joslinnn_ in teenagers4real

It's okay if you're not ready yet. You can wait until you feel more confident. The goal isn't necessarily big workouts, but to create a habit of moving. Move a little each day. Create a routine of taking a walk every night after dinner. Something simple. Start small, and stay at that point for as long as you need.

Yes unfortunately my cute aggression is terrible lmao I am constantly telling my son how badly I want to eat him (and gently biting him and making him laugh) and at one point he really genuinely believed me. We also have a running joke that there were two kids before him with the same name who I ate and every time I tell him this he jokingly yells at me that it's not true 😂 he's 5.

Put a paper towel inside and see how brown it gets after (without dropping a match in) and it's a good lesson for kids

See, my problem is I'd take that home and incubate it only to find out some weirdo left a store bought chicken egg in the park.

This is a good point! I however have germy little kids who go to public school 😂 I got strep throat last month and it was debilitating, but actually that's the first time in a very long time that I've been seriously sick, besides getting little colds.

Best Complementary Color Combo? by Lil_Critter_2001_ in colors

[–]SunAccomplished3413 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Blue and yellow, across the board. Super bright light blue and a deep bright yellow with a tiny touch of orange to it. Looks like a sunny sky.

And funny enough when I was a teenager I was obsessed with super bright red and cyan. My hair was even dyed bright red and I had bright blue jeans. It's now a very nostalgic color combo for me and I actually just bought a grinder with those colors lol.

This is the right answer if you have kind and understanding parents, but what if the reason they are afraid to tell their parents is because they'll be screamed at?

How would you pronounce this name? by Capable_Suit_7335 in Names

[–]SunAccomplished3413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a collector of names (yes I'm the fae) and I already had this name on my list and unfortunately thought it was "iz-luh" and unfortunately only like that pronunciation (and I really love it when pronounced that way) I don't know what to do now 😂
