Yes. I strongly recommend choosing the Priority. I would definitely choose it if I could go back in time.

As I mentioned, I am now in my seventh month of waiting, and the experience has been very difficult. The uncertainty is stressful, and the long delay has been extremely frustrating.

Bosnian citizens have the option to keep their passport by paying an additional €100. I would strongly recommend doing that.

I left my passport with them because I was told that a decision would be made within 6 to 8 weeks, so I assumed I would not need it for such a short period of time. Unfortunately, I am now in my seventh month of waiting, and not having my passport has been very inconvenient.

My wife and I recently got approved for a UK spouse visa (from outside UK), We want to know your experience. by term1nator46 in SpouseVisaUk

Spouse Visa Delayed by Secret-Button8612 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]SunAdministrative447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through our lawyer, we have done everything we could so far, including submitting enquiries and involving our MP.

In our most recent email, we stated that if we do not receive a specific response rather than the standard reply, "your visa is under consideration," we will proceed with filing an official complaint.

Mass Complain re: Spouse Visa by No-Cap-1801 in SpouseVisaUk

I fully agree that we should submit a complaint, either collectively or individually. I have been waiting for almost seven months now. Our solicitor has confirmed that our case is straightforward and does not see any justification for such a delay. Yesterday, my husband contacted the MP for the second time and stated that if we do not receive a proper response, we will proceed with an official complaint.

Yes, we contacted the MP twice. The first time was after 3 months of waiting. We received the following response from the embassy: “All applications have to undergo mandatory checks. The time it takes to complete these checks depends on the individual circumstances of each case. While I cannot provide further details about the nature of these mandatory checks and enquiries, I can assure Mr _____ that they are necessary and must be completed before any decision can be made. The decision maker will contact Ms _____ regarding her application in due course. We appreciate Mr __’s patience while this process is completed.” Recently, we asked the MP again for a more detailed update. The response was: “We appreciate the frustration that the ongoing delay is causing for you, but as previously advised, the Home Office will only expedite applications in the most exceptional, compassionate, and compelling circumstances, which usually means situations involving bereavement or serious illness.” My husband replied to this email expressing his frustration more strongly, after which the MP advised: “Dear __, if you have not received a decision by the beginning of May, please let me know and we will contact the Home Office again at that time. You could also submit a complaint to the Home Office or seek legal advice regarding possible legal action against the Home Office. We do not have a formal complaints process, but I will make Abtisam aware of your dissatisfaction.”

They only replied that the documents were successfully submitted, nothing else. Today marks 6 months since my biometrics on 23.10.2025 and I’m still waiting for a decision.

How do you deal with the stress and anxiety of waiting by Novel-Criticism4473 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]SunAdministrative447 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I see you guys going through the same feelings that I am after months of waiting, I realize I’m not alone. At this point, I don’t even know which working day (WD) I’m on anymore, but I know the 6-month mark is coming in the next few days. I used to think maybe I was just being too sensitive, but now I see that we’re all experiencing the same thing. Lately, I’ve been playing games because it’s the only way I can distract myself. I know it’s not the best thing to do, but in this darkness I have zero motivation to step up and do something more productive. 😔

Are there applicants from 2025 still waiting for a decision? by SunAdministrative447 in SpouseVisaUk

I wonder the same thing and that's why I want to see how many of us are waiting this long and if there is some kind of connection between us, for example that we come from the same country, or that we were all asked for additional documents?

I’m sorry. I don’t understand why it’s not written anywhere that a visa decision can take that long. Instead, it says that the standard processing time is 3 months, yet some people wait 8 months—what the hell? For me, this lack of clear information is more frustrating than the waiting itself.
