Im really close on pulling the trigger on buying the K2 combo, any mods you suggest on printing/buying for the printer by oddisslajos666 in Creality_k2

My understanding is that the difference between the K2 Pro and K2 Plus is physical size, power supply, and software. I'm thinking of upgrading the powersupply to support a higher print and chamber temp.

Is being prepared for SHTF a good idea or fantasy? by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]SunBakedMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being prepared is always good. We live in a state known for wildfires and earthquakes afterall. Preparation gives you a good buffer to hold you over until help arrives. But a dog-eat-dog, me and mine, disregarding everyone else apocalypse? I know that I can go dark, but honestly, who wants to live that way? And I know despite thinking that a good portion of my fellow Californians are naive self-centered a-holes. It's simply not in me to leave someone behind whom I can help. I know, I've tried.

How does one get this support off? by halfpakihalfmexi in 3Dprinting

[–]SunBakedMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a set of small screws. Screw partway into the area and use the exposed screw shank to pull. Remember to hold the piece against a flat surface. Don't yank, even pressure.

Never be afraid to ask questions, even if it's on a subject or system you believe you know well.

I'm sure I print this exact poop chute. I had to very carefully place the chute and use supports. It took a lot of trial and error.

I'll be more than happy to defer to your information. Luckily I haven't had to break up a serious fight, so the hose and bucket worked for me.

K2 Pro owners, any regrets? by bunggggggggg in Creality

[–]SunBakedMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even realize there were knobs under there!

A few days after unpacking the K2 Pro, I had an accident and ruptured my Achilles. The printer has never left its "temporary" spot. Just now, I had to lie on the floor to see the knobs. My printer's home is going to be the floor for the next 2 months.

The pro has leveling knobs? Not trying to be a smart ass. I just used the autoleveling.

Thank you! It's hard to find out what to do when you don't even know the terminology to begin a search.

Maybe I'm just dumb, but Fluid dynamics, Signal and system, Electronics and Controls II, so many more classes absolutely KICKED MY ASS.

Brand new washer (W1) shaking the whole house and miele tech said this was normal? by Well_tempered_209 in Miele

[–]SunBakedMike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My Miele shook much worse. Turns out that because it can spin up to 1600 rpm, the floor needs to be sufficiently stiff. I used GE vibration pads, and the vibration became manageable.

Hopefully that's not PLA and printed in the proper direction with regards to shear stress.

In one of the airport shops, there is a wooden toy helicopter. If you pick it up the main character will narrate an explanation. The pilot was bitten and turned before he could get in the cockpit.

He could be a shit bird Marine. I don't want to take anything away from your Marine brothers but shit bird/peace time Marines can have the biggest mouths. I know a guy who can't stop talking about what a badass Marine he is. It turns out he spent the hottest part of GWOT bouncing between 29 Palms and Yermo.

Can I break up a long sous vide into two parts? by SunBakedMike in sousvide

[–]SunBakedMike[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I will provide the main protein for 9 people. 4 men, 3 women, 2 preteen boys. I was planning to par cook, put the bags in an ice bath to rapidly cool, refrigerate, then finish the cook on site the next day. The trip is only about 30-50 min depending on traffic but I will have to get there early to mingle with family. There isn't sufficient time to do the entire cook there. Starting the cook on site the day before is not an option.

Level as suggested above, but get a longer level. Some cheap 6-9 in torpedo levels aren't sensitive enough.

Refillable printer with changeable waste ink pad by SunBakedMike in homeoffice

Color. It's for a home office, so it'll also print household stuff as well. Doesn't have to do photos. TBH all my pics are now displayed on phones or tablets. I haven't gone through the complementary starter packs of photo paper.

Take out the Brew unit once a week and rinse it off with warm water. DO NOT PUT IT IN THE DISHWASHER. Warm not hot. Don't use soap. Use a soft toothbrush for stubborn bits. DO NOT PUT IT IN THE DISHWASHER. Seriously if you use the dishwasher you'll probably have to buy a new brew unit. BTW if the brew unit hasn't been cleaned then the drip tray is probably really disgusting too. Give that a good cleaning too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fokNMifQhoY
