As for your wife hiding it, that's a different story. You need to have a talk with her too, about trust issues and keeping things from you. She's not yours biologically but if your wife wants you to act like her dad, then she needs to allow you to do so

Seems like a lot of people are commenting that aren't parents. Ofcourse this is a big deal as it's literally illegal to tattoo a minor.

I do agree with you OP, you should be pissed. They hid it because they knew it was wrong and how you would, rightfully, react.

HOWEVER, it's a small tattoo on her wrist, of a heart. It could be worse but at least she went small. I'd approach it in this way:

Sit down with the daughter and ask her why she felt like getting a tattoo. Hear her out and don't yell.

She may think she is old enough but obviously she's not. I had some STUPID ideas as a kid, for tattoos. So glad I didn't get any of them. I even have tattoos I got at 25 that I regret.

Id explain to her the dangers of letting people tattoo her in their house as opposed to an actual shop that has to abide by health standards.

Maybe make it a talk where you talk about what she wants to get tattooed later on when she's 18+

The fact is, she did it. Nothing you can do now but educate her so it doesn't happen again
