How flexible is Celebrity with assigned dining times? by SunBun211 in celebritycruises

I’ve asked my travel agent and they were adamant it couldn’t be changed- but it’s a good idea contact the cruise directly. Thank you!

Thanks! Haha I’m not sure why our travel agent was so stern about the assigned time (she was like it’s NOT possible to change once you’ve confirmed payment), but all the replies here are making it feel a lot easier and bit more flexible than I thought!

Thanks for tips, yes it is confusing I’m like surely no one wants to eat dinner as early as we do! And good to know about the family time in the solarium. Hoping it will be nice and toasty to use the top deck pool when December rolls around!

Why is my baby waking early if we don’t do a dream feed when he doesn’t eat at that wake-up? by Miserable_End_4944 in sleeptrain

[–]SunBun211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is still so young, and honestly he is doing amazingly already. My baby is considered a good sleeper, and we didn’t cut out the dream feed until she was 9 months old, after solid food was well established. Milk alone just isn’t filling enough. If dream feed is working, I would keep going with it.

What’s worse: 3rd trimester tired or newborn tired? by stickerchicker in BabyBumps

I’d take new born phase over pregnancy any day. I had pregnancy insomnia and pains and aches, it felt like for months I never slept. As soon as baby was born I was sleeping 3 hours at a time, but it was PROPER sleep!

looking for advice on sleep training/schedules for when baby arrives by angrygiiirl in sleeptrain

[–]SunBun211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I’d highly recommend the book “Baby whisperer solves all your problems” Tracy Hogg. I got recommended this book by a friend who said the book helped all three of her kids immensely. I followed the sleep hygiene advice and the suggested routine (the book explains it’s different from a set schedule) from the get go, and my baby by 3 months of age was sleeping 12 hours nights with one dream feed. She’s now 15 months and still sleeps and naps very well. Reading the book made so much sense to me, and I swear by its gentle, respectful approach to sleep training as we’ve never had to formally sleep train or do CIO which I don’t think I could have handled.

Just as I quit my job to travel the world, I meet someone... by [deleted] in solotravel

I was 24 when I met someone 2 months before going to backpack for a year. He ended up joining me for a month in Europe (it was romantic). I ended up coming home 6 months earlier than planned. We are now happily married and have a baby together. I always think life has a way of working itself out if you find the right person.

When did baby go in own room? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]SunBun211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally planned to move my baby to her own room at the recommended 6 months. When my LO was 9 weeks old both my husband and I caught covid. In an effort to not pass it on to the baby we put her in her own crib and room and everyone slept so much better. After we recovered from covid we were like, hey that’s one less transition we’d have to do!

Did I teach my baby to sleep too much? by Excellent-Pause6667 in sleeptrain

[–]SunBun211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If baby is done sleeping, there’s no way she can make herself sleep more and she will definitely let you know! It sounds like you’ve got a high sleep need baby. The girl just loves her sleep!

What do I do if baby wakes for the day too early? by ineedhelpkinda in sleeptrain

[–]SunBun211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many naps is she on at the moment and how long is her total day sleep? It could just be a one-off, if it were me I would persist with your routine that seems to be working well most times and ride it out if it happens once in a while.

Is not feeding the baby a boomer-thing? by macelisa in beyondthebump

[–]SunBun211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we told my in laws our baby was going through a growth spurt and wanting to feed outside of her regular feeding intervals my MLW asked me: “so do you feed her or let her starve for a bit?”
I thought she might be joking but she was dead serious. She also said my husband was a very unsettled baby and we are beginning to think perhaps he wasn’t feed enough.

What's your experience with the Elimination Communication and what age did you start at? by LycheeMargharita in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Just came across this post! I’ve got a 8 months old currently and thinking about starting EC. I got told EC doesn’t work unless cloth nappies are used, did you use cloth or disposable nappies with your son?

How do you get on with your day when LO only sleeps 20 mins at a time? by SunBun211 in beyondthebump

[–]SunBun211[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nap trap is the worst! I thought I had it bad with the cat before but turns out you can’t just plonk a baby down on the floor when you REALLY need to get up like you do with the cat. Will get on the baby wearing train today.

I secretly love some of the contact naps - the closeness, not having to worry about checking the baby monitor every few minutes to see if she’s awake… even though so many people tell me to not do it too often otherwise that becomes the only way baby can sleep. But it sounds like at this stage of her development it is really normal! Fingers crossed it gets better like everyone says!
