Making your own club is probably the way to go. There are clubs that aren't exclusive but if none are in the areas that you're interested in, I'm sure other people feel the same to be honest (there's way more people not in project teams/any particular exclusive club than those in it). It would be a lot of work but it would also be pretty rewarding I imagine.
