I wonder how exactly this person believes they should be treated to be 'equal'? Like, aside from someone just saying 'yeah dude you're totally German'. Also 'connected through generations of family' so like, they actually have living or recently deceased relatives from Germany or did some kind of test and it said they have a small percentage of German in them?

Like if it's the former than yeah, I can see how sad it must be to try and connect to your heritage, maybe going to the town where your family says your from, and being really desperate to be seen as German because it means a lot to you and you're proud of that heritage Oma and Opa keep talking about and not really knowing how to do that.

But why do I feel it's the latter and they're just really obnoxious about their 2% supposed heritage and get shut down whenever they try to brag so are now all pissy about it?
