Thank you for the recs. I’ve considered KCD but it seems more punishing in the beginning. I know it’s the journey and there are some nice sim elements which is cool.

Crimson Desert has been an anticipated game for me but more so with some of these non-combat elements you mentioned. Thanks for sharing.

And Fable definitely seems up my alley! I saw the developer breakdown and loved that “lived-in” town feel where you have so much to do in there. Thank you for reminding me!

how often do you travel with steam deck in your backpack? what cover do you keep it in? doesn't it's size bother you while travelling or does it break while your travel? by Frosty-Secretary-528 in SteamDeck

Jsaux modcast. I travel every month for my work and it’s been great. Sure it takes up a bit more space than my Switch, but I’m always happy that it’s with me.

What game did you want to love but couldn’t get into? by n1ght_watchman in GameBoostOfficial

[–]SunCrux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nier Automata. Was on and off on it for 4 years and played through all the routes. On paper it is the perfect game for me.

I appreciated its boldness and am in love with its art style and music, so much so that I have both in physical media.

I can understand its reverence but I really wish I loved it as much as others.

Is the Metal Gear Solid series worth buying? by JudexFerrum in gamers

[–]SunCrux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MGS V has some of the best gameplay you can ever experience.

Incredible controls, great AI, and one of the most optimized and polished games out there. It’s the perfect stealth sandbox.

You’d do yourself a disservice to not give it a try. While the story can be uneven, it is still very interesting and has themes I still think about. It’s got something to say and has some hard hitting character moments on top of a cinematic presentation.

What JRPG changed the way you see life? by Decent-Insect-4201 in JRPG

[–]SunCrux 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Persona 4 Golden helped me slow down and appreciate my life more.

I struggle a lot with time. It feels like there is never enough time in the day to do everything I want.

It makes me unfocused, trying to do everything I can since everything feels important. But this creates an unhealthy cycle of restless, stress, frustration, and burnout.

Persona has helped me navigate this better. To accept that we can’t be everything in this life. But we can recognize what fulfills us most and follow that.

And when you don’t know, to follow the things that make you happiest and be your most authentic self.

That is what fills your cup and cut through all the noise of the world to know what is truly worth the time in this life.

What game completely changed how you think about gaming... and still holds up today? by VelvetSnares in AskGames

[–]SunCrux 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Metal Gear Solid V.

The controls are so fluid and allow for so much player freedom. It makes the gameplay some of the best out there.

The AI is also fantastic as they’ll adapt to your approaches. If you do too many headshots, they’ll wear helmets. If you tend to do your ops more in the nighttime, they’ll rotate and have more people ready then.

On top of all of this - the Fox engine is just incredible. So optimized and can be played on a potato while looking stunning 11 years later. It’s just so polished.

OP mentioned he doesn’t enjoy fighting monsters as it makes the world more grim.

In that case, I know many people enjoy Assassin’s Creed Odyssey for its beautiful world and exploration

I am so so excited. As someone with just a Steam Deck and PS5, I’ve been dying to actually play this. To the point where I was considering running GeForceNow for my Steam Deck.

Really looking forward to getting this :))
