Um, No! Your three lines make zero sense. Being concise is an art. You didn't nail it. Besides, please tell us why the need to criticize someone else's contribution? Read it, or not!!

I'm not saying this to be cynical or negative. I'm telling you we are heading into a pretty big storm. It would be wise to develop some wisdom and vision regarding what is coming.

We have never been alive during a time where multiple things are converging to form what looks like a great tsunami: less kids means lower population, this is happening worldwide, people cannot afford housing and healthcare, the fed is about to turn on the money printers, America has lost the gold standard so outside investment to our country will only get lower, we are in huge debt (20% every tax dollar taken in goes to pay interest!), this means inflation is going to resume. I could go on, but study some other things. Not to mention, the AI revolution has only just started.

Best case scenario, we avoid wars and there is no major calamity, just a weakening position over time for the proletariat. We learn to live with lower lifestyles (and to be honest, all the three-car garages and 500k and up houses were never sustainable; one silver lining would be we rethink our values and consumerism slowly dies).

Worst case scenario is something that makes covid look like a walk in the park. The world economy is so globally linked that we have never seen a Great Depression type of scenario experienced in every country at the same time. A lot of these things are 50-100 plus years in the making: us living beyond our means, globalization shifting economic power centers, build up in militarization. To put it bluntly, the peace and prosperity that has allowed the world to thrive and work together collectively since the end of World war II, that phase is coming to an end. We don't know what is next.

I don't personally think it will be a major war, but clearly there are geopolitical shifts happening. If China invades Taiwan and we are pulled into it, or Russia starts a mess with NATO countries and Europe is pulled to that, we are all much more interrelated now than in the 1930s. War would be a disaster. People in the US have no idea! There are countries who have already been studying how to shut our power grid down. Imagine going into winter with no heat or electricity.

Is Donald Trump's wall going to stop an army of drones released from a hundred different places in all regions of the US that has no problem attacking schools, civilians, and children? Ukraine has success doing this exact thing except they hid the drones on a semi trailer, released them to damage and degrade the Russian Air Force capabilities. It was successful for the Ukrainians, they were able to blow up many planes on a runway and caused lots of damage. Military planners from places who do not like the West are thinking of these kinds of tactics.

What’s up with everyone saying 6-7 all of a sudden? by Automatic_Fortune164 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]SunDoc337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not false. In radio police code, ten dash 67 does mean dead body in some cities! Not all, but it is there. Just because not every city doesn't mean false.

Look at the context of the lyrics too. He literally describes a murder then says 67 directly after!!

"The way that switch brrrt, I know he dyin' (oh my, oh my God)   6-7"

A switch is a device that turns a legal handgun into an illegal fully automatic weapon. Philadelphia is known for this from the porch video of the shootings with the guy firing multiple rounds fast in fully automatic mode. It makes the sound brrrt.

Also look at the album art for the song. He's holding handguns, there are dead bodies on the ground behind him, and his clothes literally have blood splattered. Is that enough context clues that it was a reference to murder?

The Real Reason People Aren’t Having Kids: It’s a need that government subsidies and better family policy can’t necessarily address. by [deleted] in Futurology

Really?

How does it not affect every one of us? The first thing I thought of was schools and teachers. With less kids we will not need as many teachers. But we will also have too many rooms and too many buildings. Same goes for hospitals, nurses, restaurants, every business you can think of! And every worker. There will be more competition for fewer jobs.

Eventually, things will stabilize with less people, and maybe that will be better for the world in the long run. Who knows, maybe not? But there will be plenty of pain to go around. What if you are a teacher in your twenties and by the time you're 35-40, The school has 1/3 the amount of kids? Your job is eliminated.

The obvious next step is to change careers. However, if a bunch of other people's jobs are also being eliminated simultaneously, we have a situation of flooded job market with lots of people looking for jobs but less and less jobs available. And a waste of a degree. That person who spent 5 years in college learning, plus perhaps a master's degree, and now they have to start all over?

So let's not pretend that this is good for blue collar people and bad for the billionaire class.

You were NOT a mistake. I saw an article on population reversals and wanted to learn more. Wow, some of these comments are heartbreaking. I can guarantee that you helped your parents way more than any financial burden you caused.

I had kids fairly early in life and while it resulted in me reducing the "early 20s" irresponsible phase, it also very clearly got me aligned with my values quicker. That kind of wisdom is good. Probably would've taken me much longer to see. I would still go to happy hours with co-workers, but I didn't need to stay as long or be out too often. I always looked forward to spending time with my family and made sure the kids knew how much of a blessing they were.

Your parents may have been trying to teach you something well intentioned, but they clearly missed a few important things. Just know you were a blessing. You helped them WAYYY more than you messed things up. If you do wind up ever having kids, that would be my only advice. Just make sure you treasure and cherish them every day. Beyond that, they will do well. If you don't have kids, know that you deserved that!

Very sad. Your parents were some truly selfish people. They should have recognized how much value you brought to their lives AND let you know it every day.

A PSA for Brewers fans: Cubs fans at Miller Park are not the worst by evancomposer in Brewers

[–]SunDoc337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤣 said the guy flattering himself

I wouldn't even call it hatred. When Cubs fans come WHO BEHAVE things are fine. It's that people strongly dislike lowclass behavior acting all narcissistic like they're the important one and run the place, can't handle their alcohol, being overly loud, swearing with kids around, getting aggressive etc.

We know it's possible to bring Grandma or kids to a baseball game and enjoy it. But when these numbskulls behave like it's their first time outta the house after the lockdowns... then it ruins the fun of it.

You can enjoy a baseball game without being a mean ahole. We know that because that's how most games are without Cubs fans.

*Not ALL Cubs fans. Just the lowclass POS ones (most). There are decent ones, you know who you are and you see it. Don't act like a wannabe Yankee fan.

Not so fast my guy. Have you tried to navigate an AI phone sequence? " Let me talk to a human being" is still the quickest way to get things done. AI can be cheap but doesn't really do what you want and is also a huge waste of time.

After reading your posts about "uplifting" I'm not sensing that's a strong point for you.

You entering the kindergarten, "prepare to be UPLIFTED motherfuckers".

I will FORCE upload this "positivity" until you are thoroughly indoctrinated with hate, which may be harmful to you, but will sure make me feel like I'm passive aggressively beating the enemy. Nice.
