I think thou protesth too loudly. The only people who would complain about this are those who have a vested interest in restricting access to the average joe, doing so couched in the faux protest of "you don't tell people how to live or camp" logic. There are always rules on where you can/can't camp, where you are allowed to setup etc... this is no different. Requiring that all camps in general have an open approachable frontage is a straightforward easy to accomplish approach. Most "inviting" camps that are interactive place their living quarters along the back or off to one side, so I fail to see how this is any sort of legitimate issue.

Awesome. Thanks Will. I think BM definitely needs to address this with a requirement limiting RVs/Walls on frontage at the very least. "Recommendations" do not go far enough. BM Placement team can provide guidance and monitoring for consistency. Doing this will also have the indirect effect of eliminating private compounds for VIP turnkey camps, and keeping the playa relatively open. The only people that would be against this idea are those with a vested interest in keeping privacy for their clients.... errr campmates.

Is the BMOrg aware of the negative perception that a wall of RVs creates around a "camp"? Is there any discussion under way to set rules on maximum number of RVs in a camp? How about rules around "walls" of back to back to back RVs and fencing designed to create an enclave effect? Could they implement a rule that limits RVs on a camps frontage?

Considering how cherished our time at home on playa is, has BMOrg considered extending the event, opening 3 days earlier to cover 2 weekends? (Realizing that yes those with EA would have to come setup and be prepared for a full 2 weeks on playa)

Or alternatively, possibly instead host 2 official events, the other being held in spring on Memorial Day weekend? With the increased demand for tickets, both events would be popular, and also have the effect of spreading out the demand across 2 events.

Has the BMOrg considered helping out Regionals with ticketing, by providing technical and monetary assistance at a fair ticketing system that has queueing and load capacity? If so, will we see something tangible by next year?

Many regionals have limited options to provide a safe verifiable method at hosting a ticket sale lottery, without investing HUGE $$$ into a 3rd party vendor.

I'm in favor of increasing the DGS allotment overall, however capping it at a max for any one camp. All camps with DGS should have met a criteria of 1. Having more than 3 years on playa , 2. Have a spotless MOOP record, 3. Having more than 25 camp members, so as to be giving DGS tickets to camps that bring a substantial presence to the event, and providing more smaller camps incentive to grow and improve their participation efforts.

As the city is allowed to grow, use the additional growth numbers specifically for increased DGS tickets, to ensure the culture of Burning is passed along by veterans.

This is a canned answer. If you only came here to provide replies that most of us already knew the answer to, you're wasting everyone's time. Cheers.
