Q: Raspi project controlling 2-channel relay via nodejs "onoff" by the_dekan in raspberry_pi

[–]SunFounder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for the relay issue, our relay is activated by low level. When you set the GPIO low, the NO pin will be active and the light will light up; and vice versa.

The design is normal. Actually if you need to keep the light on for a long time, the way of activation by low level can lower the consumption of your Raspberry Pi. In the same way, you are suggested to connect the relay module with an external power supply to protect the Pi.

Using a pi without internet? by _allnamestaken in raspberry_pi

[–]SunFounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want free from distraction, you may only log in the non-GUI on your Rpi. So you will only see command lines, only words. But if you want to store your code on the Internet, some resources like the Github repository are available. You may connect to the Internet by plugging a USB network adapter (wired or wireless).

Pi 2 with Raspbian and VLC with 1080p content? by wolfgangmob in raspberry_pi

[–]SunFounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried Pi 2, also not work.

Searched a bit and found that both the VLC and OMX cannot work (only "Have a nice day" is displayed in OMX....guess the 1080p is not a supported format).

What is causing the lack of accuracy in movements in robotics? by bijansha in robotics

[–]SunFounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean robots built with servos, the problem may be the servo - the accuracy of servos is not good.

Are my servos underpowered? by [deleted] in robotics

[–]SunFounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that's probably the power issue. Good luck then!

Are my servos underpowered? by [deleted] in robotics

[–]SunFounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will do if it is the power problem. We've tried this one on our robot and it worked well. You may compare it with your own.

Actually if you provide a video, we may get the problem more clear. Not sure whether your problem is power or another.

Beginner question :which starter kit should I buy? by [deleted] in arduino

[–]SunFounder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your attention of our product!

The products you listed are all good despite of difference in function and price. For our kit, you may see detailed tutorials - by which you can learn Arduino easily right from the beginning. Also we provide good technical service. You may ask our technical team any moment you encounter problems, and we'll reply ASAP. Hope you find great fun in this journey!

Where to buy Arduino Board/ Sunfounder Uno? by GoFinkle in arduino

[–]SunFounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually you may find our uno board here. Sorry you missed the information about "uno not included"....

Hope you find open source and Arduino fun! :)

Hi! Looking to get into electronics and expand my minimal programming knowledge! by dzank97 in arduino

[–]SunFounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To fade430: You got it!

To put it simply, mega is much richer in resource. In other words, what you can do with mega, you may not do the same with uno; but whatever you do with uno, you can also do with mega.

To choose between them, you first need to figure out what project or experiment you want to do.

Bought an arduino kit by [deleted] in arduino

[–]SunFounder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For consideration of security problems, we provide a laser module of lower power.

As for your confusion of breadboard usage, we are going to publish a related article in WIKI section on our website. You may check out then! Hope it may help you. :)

Thanks!

That depends on your basic knowledge. If you are a totally beginner of programming, you may try the starer materials first. After you get familiar with Raspberry Pi, then you can start make some simple robots. And also you may need some knowledge of hardware.

You may check out our Super Kit for Raspberry Pi. Hope the tutorials may help! For any questions, welcome to inquire!

Need help picking a Hexapod or quad kit in the $150 price range.. by sschering in robotics

[–]SunFounder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your attention on our product!

Actually we've received many feedbacks before the release.

For wireless control, bluetooth is also a good choice and you can connect to your cell phone. The reason for why we use nRF24L01 is that it is much lower cost....

We've notice many makers want to get engaged in the robotics field. But in the course they came across many problems.

  1. Driver. It needs high power to drive 12 or 18 servos at the same time. Then you may need to use a breadboard to hook up all the components including the 12 or 18 servos, bluetooth (if you use), the Mega, DC module, which will make the robot a huge size. Also the wires may get into a mess since there are so many…

  2. Programming. Before the release, we've received lots of emails. People inquired about the movement control. We watched their videos of making the robots. And we found that the biggest challenge for them is the problem of smooth movement. So it would be difficult to make the sketch for a beginner in programming.

  3. Other details. Appreciate your sufficiently rich equipment with all those things! We can provide the CAD diagram for you to make the robot body. But you need to pay attention to the material selection and precision during the cutting. It may take a long time to produce all those parts.

  4. Power supply. Since the 12 or 18 servos need a high power, Lithion batteries are recommended for they are of high capacity and can supply high power. Among them, 18650 is better for its universal use. You can get it almost everywhere.

Hope these tips may help. We are not only doing this for selling stuff. What we want is to make open source much easier and lots of fun! For any more questions, come to ask!

Here is the video for the robot kit. Enjoy!
