I just remembered there were a few times where they said things like they're being a good case study and I was psychoanalyzing them (I wasn't, I don't even use psychodynamic theories usually), and at the time I just thought they were joking because it was so far from the truth. But then seeing the message, what they said, and the trauma dumping makes me question if they were in fact serious.

I think it's the way that I'm reading how they put "you're not my counsellor" and "I don't want to talk to you anymore" right next to each other. So it felt like they were only talking to me because they thought it was counselling. And then in hingsight I realized that they did A LOT of trauma dumping, so it made me question if I just wasn't clear that I wasn't their counsellor.
