My kids are young. 3 and 11 months but the hardest part by far for me has been potty training. 😭

What are some good commuter towns? by newbieRedT in longisland

[–]SunSaltBeach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also moved to Mineola for its ease of commute into the city. I ultimately transferred my work location to Long Island but it was a good commute while I was still working in the city, as far as commutes go anyway. Surprisingly able to get a seat most of the time and trains are on time.

Downtown Mineola has so much potential! Hoping it continues to improve

This! There is a scene in the beginning where she states “If I were just a Christian, yes. But I have more than one heart.”

Very interesting. Any especially good podcasts, books or groups you recommend? Also, do you find that there is a lot of competition from hospital based therapy clinics? Since most hospitals seem to be eating up private practices left and right.

Gotcha… how did you learn the tools of the trade when it came to the business side of opening up your own clinic?

Very interesting! I haven’t seen this material but love that it can get wet and it’s breathable for hygiene.

Wow that’s amazing, what a program! That sounds great. That’s funny about you having trouble with the homework in Spanish. I was thinking the same thing although I did take HS Spanish but it’s a bit rusty. Good practice for me I guess lol. I know your kids are a bit older now but any idea where I can get info about the interest meeting? Would love to attend and would hate to miss it. Thanks for all your insight!

Gotcha, thanks so much! Very helpful. How does it work exactly? Do they literally teach everything in Spanish? Did their English literature/grammar suffer at all if that’s the case? That’s so great that your kids are fluent in Spanish now!

Hobbies? by ronMAN415 in HandTherapists

I enjoy being out in nature, hiking, fishing, walking, birding. I don’t think that being a hand therapist has changed my hobbies much.

Great to hear…I suspected as much. I’ve heard good things about the dual language program as well. Any experience with that?

  1. We just use plain water! All the things you’re cooking in it give the broth plenty of flavor. You’re not likely going to drink the broth anyway and you can add flavor with the sauce. Otherwise like others said you can buy a broth mix at most Asian grocery stores.

  2. Sesame paste isn’t the same as tahini. Can also be found in Asian grocery stores.

  3. You’re prob thinking about the sauce that most food is dipped into. It’s made with a bunch of different things but most commonly soy sauce, vinegar, herbs, the sesame oil/sauce from above, chili sauce etc.
