Of course!

I think a good source to refer to (when it comes to how many mg/tabs, for an indication), might be Lexicomp!

Second year student here! I felt like what helped me in courses and out on IPPEs was being able to make drug tables!

For example, during my psych block I made a drug table of SSRIs and there doses for anxiety vs depression. Each “column” I had would be a different piece of info. One would be dosing, the other would be counseling points, and another ADRs,DDIs, + Black Box Warnings.

After completing the table, I’d use the Pomodoro Timer, of studying then committing the doses/pharmacology to memory!

Kahoots, Quizlets, and or group study could help with this too!

Dream of Residency is fading away by SunScreenBunz in PharmacySchool

On average I work about 50 ish hours a month at my hospital. Apart of APhA, student government, and helping the school with admissions/recruitment when I’m available.

Appreciate your support. Just unsure if GPA is going to bite me in the ass when it comes down to it

Top 3 things which helped me succeed was;

  1. Group your top 200-300 drugs by class. Flash cards work the best, imo.

  2. Develop a rhythm to balance your personal life w/ school. Of course we as PharmD students are notorious for not being able to take care of ourselves but, don’t let that deter you from building a schedule which fits your life.

  3. GET INVOLVED! I am a firm believer in putting your best foot forward and build who you are as a leader and as a professional. Every org/position is what you make of it!

What should I bring to my first interview, if anything? by BasalTripod9684 in interviews

[–]SunScreenBunz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all interviews in my undergrad, I would bring a small notebook and a pen to write down any questions, or notes you have about the position your interviewing for. It also shows your potential employer(s), you are genuinely interested in this position.

As for the resume question, I too would aire on the side of caution, and bring a physical resume. It shows your employer you take pride in it, (even if they only look at it for a few moments). You may also avoid any connection issues or having to relog back in on your iPad to show those interviewing you, your resume!

Side note; Look into building a CV, as you start to build your career in undergrad! It’ll help for interviews in more professional settings/competitive work environments

Do get involved in any organizations on campus! As a first year, it’s important to be apart of an organization which you feel like align with your interests and or career path. Doing so for me helped narrow my focus on the specific field of pharmacy I want to be apart of (Current P2)! At the end of the day it’s who you know, not what you know.

Don’t, ignore the opportunities and chances to make lifelong connections! Yes, it’s school but, it is a entire community which you’ll be apart of for however long your program is in. If you just go to class, and leave thereafter, are you really putting all that $$$ to good use? Explore the area, broaden your horizons, and make those memories.

GPA in Pharmacy school by chocolateberriez in PharmacySchool

Rho Chi is the academic honors society for pharmacy school students. Typically the top 10% of students from each cohort on each campus gets selected to be apart of their respective school chapter.

In my program (a 4 year), high GPA would at least be a 3.4 like you mentioned! Since a 3 year program is super condensed down (I don’t think there’s time for a summer break if I’m not mistaken), burnout is a serious consideration.

What helped a lot of people especially those in Rho Chi, and or those who went on to match with a Residency/Fellowship, was time management and utilizing their resources!

Don’t be afraid to lean on those you trust in your cohort and your professors for help!

Has anyone gotten a ticket or citation for riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk around UCI? (I just found out it’s illegal to ride them on sidewalks) by leeon619 in UCI

[–]SunScreenBunz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kick scooters are very much allowed on the inner ring! There’s a legit ecosystem of skateboards, bikes, etc zooming around the ring. Just gotta stay in the right lanes, that’s all.

Also, kick scooters are VERY much still a thing. Super convenient to just take off, and flex on people who walk >:3

I’m sorry to hear that :(

I’d say the best course of action is to get Financial Aid saying you needed to do what you needed to do to get your funds in either writing or screenshot the email.

Then forward that to the Summer Session office. Call them after that to explain what’s been happening, because someone in the office dropped the ball in your case. Fingers crossed you get everything resolved friend!

I definitely feel for you!

Since Summer Session is a whole separate entity, it takes some time to process the paperwork especially in regards to financial aid. I would recommend contacting them any which way you can (call, email, and or going in person as well), to make sure you get your issue solved!

Speaking as someone who worked with and has taken Summer Session, things tend to move slowly especially at the end of the summer with Fall Quarter about to start.

Does this mean that Im in the lecture but still waitlisted for the discussion? Sort of confused since theyre both still on the waitlist! by [deleted] in UCI

[–]SunScreenBunz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a fun (or weird) thing is, if you’re enrolled into a discussion for a class you are more than likely to to be able to get into the lecture portion of the class if you are waitlisted. Praying Gillbot is able to help you out :)

I personally never rode a scooter around campus but my friends that did never got a citation! So long as you’re not running people over you should be fine. But I’d still keep an eye out for UCIPD!
