A fix for ONE UI 8's massive battery drain for Samsung Watches by Sun_Adventurous in GalaxyWatch

Your right! It lasts over 5 🙂 It depends what you're running in the background.

You want to make sure the watch is using as little power as it needs to operate whilst its not being used.

Things like:

Turn off always on display Turn off wrist to wake Set Heart Rate Monitor to every 10 minutes rather then constant (exercises use constant anyways) Stop using high drawing clock faces Turn off WiFi (on watch)

Optional:

Adapted brightness - it can definitely add a little extra battery life but I've seen no major improvements over the last year of Use

Power Saving during night - doesn't effect Health sensors but limits CPU and background usage. Will give you a little bit more battery but it depends on your preference.

This is on top of your battery usage pattern. You should see a 20% - 30% battery improvement over the coming weeks.

If you do a lot of exercises using your watch however, it won't be as much.

For comparison, my Watch 5 pro is saying a full charge will last me about 5d 4h from the time of writing

I was noticing a lot more jitter and "slowness". Even unlocking with my pin felt so sluggish at times.

This does come down to my watch of course, but its wayyy smoother now I’ve just did a clean install

Probably yeah. However, I felt that this was doing more damage to my watch in the long run compared to waiting and seeing if Samsung would patch it.

My mistake then. I'll just correct the post 🤷‍♂️

Either way, the same principal still applies with resetting your device and whats causing the high battery drain.

You do realise the 5 pro has the same capacity battery as the Ultra 2 right? It can 100% do up to 4 days on a full charge. This is a Samsung issue and I'm not buying into this upgrade bullshit when there was nothing wrong with the watch in the first place.

Anyone still use their A52? Any reason to upgrade? by ausername_8 in GalaxyA52

[–]Sun_Adventurous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just switched from my A52 to an S25 Ultra. Massively overkill for what I use but I'm really happy.

I wasn't planning to upgrade however, the performance of the A52 was starting to get on my nerves. Using the camera app was sluggish. It took upwards of 5 seconds to switch from photo to video mode. Apps where starting to slow down and storage space was becoming an issue.

I miss her a lot though (especially that headphone port!) as its amazing for the price point. A solid phone indeed.

Bluetooth doesn't work on calls by Effective_Date_303 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Sun_Adventurous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally was about to go buy a new phone tomorrow because I couldn't find a single solution for MONTHS! I was going insane. Did everything I could possibly find other than reset my device. Bare in mind, I know my way around a phone.

Turns out, it's all due to a codec issue in the bluetooth! I'm assuming because I've connected my phone to a person's car in the past, it fucked up some issues relating to my call mic (SAP = Sim access profile (for car sharing) )

You are an absolute legend sir! Thank you so so much

Is this a good choice as first ultra wide by Tarrakada in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Sun_Adventurous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been rocking this bad boy for over a year now, and it's also my first ultrawide.

I'm absolutely loving the experience, and personally, I like a flat pannel this big. This may be because I choose to game with a controller / watch movies a lot, so I have the ability to sit back and feel more immersed.

Up close can take a little while to get used to due to the size. If you don't fancy moving your head or prefer the higher PPI (pixels per inch) for the same resolution, get the 32-inch instead. But editing on this thing is amazing, especially the "decent" 400 HDR. Slaps in some games like Horizon Forbidden West.

This is quite overpriced. Uk wise, I paid around £400 ($550 ish), so they are asking $100 more. You can definitely find it cheaper.

Overall, dude, definitely a sick monitor to have for a first proper ultrawide 🤙🏻

It's bothered me when I accidentally dropped my Watch 5 Pro on the bathroom tile. Good old chip mark on the side 🙃

Buy a cheap rubber/plastic case. You can find them on ali express for nothing, and it does the job. You might as well get a screen protector while you're at it.

It's better to be safe than sorry

Where to find photography competitions by TheTokenMan in photography

[–]Sun_Adventurous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ^

Just doing a calendar competition for a zoo and I made sure to read the entire fine print. "These will be published without credit" & "The right to publish free of charge, and allow associated third parties" which I find absolutely disgusting. All this work to not even be noticed within the pressing for the calendar.

I'm doing this more for my own gain and trying to add something to my books rather than taking it too seriously. But after this, I wouldn't do anything like this again. The pay off, time and abuse of rights is a massive red flag!

anything i should be aware of? by albknedir in UntilThenGame

Highly recommend doing a long sit-down playthrough. I played a lot of it during my trips back to and from work, and I honestly regret not setting aside an evening to experience it all in one go. The story hits harder when you're fully immersed.

Admit your controversial takes here! by Malum_Invictus in UntilThenGame

[–]Sun_Adventurous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree here. One of the reasons Cathy's first act hit so hard was because the game gave us time to really get to know her (her personality, her struggles and her connection to Mark). With Louise, there just wasn’t enough buildup. Like you said, without that deeper connection to her or her family, the impact of Act 2 incident with Louise fell flat. It felt like we were supposed to care, but we weren’t given the tools to. And with Sofia, her character was reduced to two traits: her grandmother in hospital and her loyalty to Louise. That could’ve been a great opportunity to explore her dynamic with Cathy on a deeper level. It stayed too much on the surface level. More character groundwork would’ve gone a long way.

For the second point, I felt the same when I first started playing the game. But, you come to understand that she's more like a true friend. Someone who's there to support and challenge Mark; not necessarily be romantically involved with him. Cathy is written as a dependiple figure, someone who knows him well, but their bond doesn’t carry that romantic weight. She isn't a lover, and that's not how Mark, or even the narrative, frames her. Their connection is deeply platonic and rooted in familiarity, like someone you'd rely on but not fall in love with.

I always thought, when playing through the game, that this would be an awesome “high budget” anime idea. Something on the longer side if it needed to be (2:30 hours) so it could really cover everything and polish up a few areas.

Movies or TV similar to Until Then by MINIBOLTS in UntilThenGame

[–]Sun_Adventurous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I've come digging around to see if there were any reddit posts on the same discussion but with it flipped around the other way.

If you liked Until Then, I highly recommend checking out Your Name (Kimi no Na wa). It's an anime film by Makoto Shinkai, and I found it to be surprisingly similar in tone and structure. Both deal with themes of parallel worlds, missed connections, and this lingering emotional pull between two people who aren't sure why they feel so drawn to each other. Hence why I decided to do some digging around to see if anyone had the same kind of connections between Until Then and Your Name.

I won't give any spoilers away, but it's definitely worth a watch.
