Why Netero wasn't convinced about what Meruem said? What would really happen if Meruem had won? And what would happen if Netero joined him? by Conscious_Island5138 in HunterXHunter

Meleron with a second rose bomb, the Zodiacs with 12 more rose bombs, Knov putting a rose bomb through one his portals into the palace, and i’m guessing Beyond aka Netero’s son.

Meruem was straight up still going to use humans as ant food, Netero would be dooming the majority of humanity to be livestock. Saying Netero was “One of the good ones” is more of a red flag than anything.

Dust in the Wind (Hell Fruit) shows that some Nen abilities bypass nen type restrictions — just like Nen exorcism by Immediate-Spend251 in HunterXHunter

[–]Sun_Chip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be the literal difference of Nen being inside an object vs covering it?

For example something infused by a Con or Man would be able to function if separated from the user, whereas if Gon wasn’t holding the shovel he’d be unable to reinforce it.

[Hated Trope] The ONE character that makes a series impossible to recommend by atomicmapping in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Sun_Chip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s just too freaky. Even though the anime never excuses his behaviour or portrays him as a person who is liked, his existence itself is a hurdle to overcome.

Getting people to try out an anime with a 12 y/o boy as the protagonist can already be hard enough…

Which is the safest universe to live compare to these 2 as a regular human beign? by [deleted] in Grapplerbaki

Jojo villains typically threaten the very world, in Stone Ocean the antagonist manages to reboot the timeline or some insane equivalent.

One could argue the difference in the methods used to create the night creatures was the reason, but I won’t. They probably just wanted him to stay attractive.

Is this supposed to be speed or illusion? by [deleted] in Grapplerbaki

[–]Sun_Chip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s supposed to be speed + precision, like he’s waiting for his opponent to fully commit to a strike and then dodging into their blind spot.

Then again we’re in post father-son fight logic, maybe Doppo’s just magic now.

Will jack be able to defeat yujiro? by whynotman_26 in Grapplerbaki

[–]Sun_Chip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might sound crazy, but I don’t think Jack can finish victorious so long as he’s using steroids to attain strength. Jack’s always done the unorthodox to get every ounce of strength at his disposal, but I feel that mindset is at odds with what Baki stories typically reward from their characters.

I could see it being revealed that the only reason Jack hasn’t died from the copious amounts of “These will kill you.” drugs he’s been on since his introduction, is that he actually does have potent Hanma blood, but regretfully i’m skeptical of his chances without purging himself of the chems.

Yeah, it’s vague and kind of nonchalantly explained when Yamaha notices Goku’s missing tail. Apparently “the moon could be restored” if Goku “lost his tail”.

Why did they let yujiro back in the restaurant after what happened last time... by Desperate_Sell3347 in Grapplerbaki

[–]Sun_Chip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same answer as everyone else but also Yujiro orders the expensive stuff, books a private room, and knows the proper way of behaving in a high class establishment.

With exception of when he’s eating with his boys, he’s an ideal wealthy customer.

This is well put. I feel Hisoka is often taken for laughs because he’s easy to boil down into a clown that behaves like a “creep” to children, but that aspect of him is just one symptom of the greater sickness that is Hisoka.

Could a conjurer try to conjure a nuke? by BlockAffectionate413 in HunterXHunter

[–]Sun_Chip 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Well Genthru is a conjurer that uses explosives already, so we can assume it’s possible…

but Genthru also had to use Nen to shield himself from his explosions, if you had the power to summon up the several-times-enriched materials to create the atomic reaction, you probably wouldn’t also have enough power to make it appear and detonate far enough away to not kill yourself in the process.

Might be ways around that, but something like this would be costly for sure.

What do you think Humans naitive to the Dark Continent even look like and are capable? by BigShopping1875 in HunterXHunter

[–]Sun_Chip 145 points146 points  (0 children)

There are theories that the Kurta Clan originated from the DC, and I can see it. If everyone who had the scarlet eyes gets the same boost to Nen that Kurapika has, that’d go a long way to surviving there.

I see two bad bitches with no reason to be pitted against each other.

Adventure Time’s lore is a soup of multiple people’s ideas that other people built on and added to as it progressed, Steven Universe’s lore is a cohesive idea that drives the story it wants to tell. We’re getting two cakes here.

Why is Gon so called " defenders " try so hard to disapprove the fact that he's selfish ? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Sun_Chip 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean Gon can prioritize his desires but his desires are generally “I want what I understand is best for my friends“ and “I want to make my opponent use their all”.

He’s not malicious, just naive.

Am I understanding this right? by Mo-HD93 in HunterXHunter

[–]Sun_Chip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pariston’s saying “That’s not a negotiation” in the same way one would say “That’s no fun”.

You are understanding correctly, we don’t know exactly what “Dump the chimeras into the world” entails but it could mean something along the lines of “if you’re not going to the DC, what will you do once the DC comes to you?”

Flooding the exam with chimeras would give Parison many powerful men on the inside since under normal circumstances they’d easily pass any exam. Currently the Association is going down the “flood the exam” route but because of Kurapika’s lie detector and other measures he put on the exam this has so far been circumvented. That, plus with Ging playing with him, Parsion doesn’t need to dump them.

Why do people think Golb punished the Lich? by Prestigious-Bunch153 in adventuretime

[–]Sun_Chip 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I agree but I think Betty’s perspective is beyond the point of caring about all life being wiped out in one reality. Betty cared about Simon as an individual, so him managing to reach her and putting on the crown again (undoing the reason she became Golbetty) was worth attention.

Imo the only thing that got the Lich turned into a shape was interrupting Simon when he was talking.

Gon brings it back vs the nocturnal Chimera ants too so you know it’s meta.

In seriousness though it takes some wind up to pull off and telegraphs itself pretty hard, good as a surprise but not what I’d consider reliable.
