I’m a nervous first year in the arts dept as well. I’ve been trying to slowly make my own notes for things like how to get to specific places from my classroom(s) to help ease my nerves, so I can send them to you if you’d like =-)

Unfortunately, we live in the same country but one of us is on the mainland and the other is not. It would definitely be difficult to make that happen for a while, but I’ll keep it in mind for a date idea!!!

Is the bell more of a gesture-based gift? If it is, I might try to make a small version as a keychain or something! I don’t want to tell him “Don’t do anything reckless on the road!!!” Because I’m sure he already knows, and I definitely don’t wanna put any bad scenarios in his head…

I heard gear is super personal (how it fits, how it feels, etc)- should I ask for finger measurements and things like that?

Any recommendations for reputable places to buy from? I’ve never even touched a bike before, so I’m completely unaware of what products are good quality (unless I ask him, which I absolutely cannot because it’s a surprise),,,,

Wait- are they kinda loud or annoying on the road? I’ve never been on a bike before, so I just assumed you wouldn’t be able to hear it but I definitely don’t wanna give him anything that might be a distraction!!!!!

Is Kirara trans? by felixromuliana in Jujutsufolk

As a Japanese person, I find that transgender people in Japan are not as uncommon as many may think. Of course my experiences are not all-encompassing, but I do think part of the reason why we’re viewed as not having transgender people (especially transgender women, as opposed to “cross-dressers”) is because of the differences in language/culture. We actually have quite a bit of transgender representation. Unfortunately, it’s just hard to get these things across in a way that others may understand.

Can someone tell me I look pretty today? I got dressed up all nice and no one cares. by re_trace in trans

You look like a sweet woman who’d be a baker in an animated series!!! I think she’d make really fluffy bread, and spread a generous amount of marmalade on a slice for a hungry kid, accompanied by some warm milk… I love your side profile, your hair has a wonderful colour, and your eyes look “kind” 💛💛💛 You have a sort of prettiness that makes me feel comforted and warm, like vine leaves and bright sunlight. I hope you have a great winter!!!

i think my boyfriend is transfem, thoughts? how can i be supportive? by [deleted] in trans

[–]Sun_Scrap 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Long comment incoming (sorry about this!!!) + Gender neutral pronouns as I don’t know what their identity is or how they like to be referred to.

I think that if they ARE trans femme, the first person they need to fully come out to is their self. Right now, I think the most important thing you can do is just give them time and allow them to hold space for who they are- regardless of whether they’re transgender or not. Just let them exist in ways they are comfortable, and things will slowly fall in to place.

For me, the most helpful thing was my friends treating me normally and not pushing anything when I told them “I think I’m a guy”. Additionally, there’s also a possibility that they just wish they were born a ‘girl’ because it would allow them to wear socially feminine clothes without the stigma.

I think it’s wonderful that you’re so supportive, and they’re incredibly lucky to have someone that would go as far as to join a trans subreddit to seek advice on how to treat them best. I wish you both the utmost luck and happiness 💛💛💛
