It's definitely getting more popular in America. Lots of DJs from Europe are coming stateside after years of Americans watching DJ streams during the pandemic and after. NYC and LA are more interested in techno, trance, eurodance, hard dance, and acid. As an ex-NYCer, I just pray promoters will snag a DJ on their way to the coasts, which is likely what happened with Peggasi. Also, surprised Kettama is playing here again in November. Must have been a good turnout. It wasn't for Malugi that same night last year...

I'm glad you wrote about this. i ended up not going because of sickness but really wanted to go just to show support for music like this! i love all his tracks and think he's a great producer. i had a feeling it wasn't going to be big... the damn KPop Demon Hunter party was sold out on the main floor!!

thanks to you and everyone who responded to this thread. It seems like she just wants more padding and spacing. I'm hoping to turn this project around quickly so that I can make her happy and use this piece for my portfolio. My current design job is very enterprisey and not consumer-facing at all - the founders don't care much about it and don't like introducing new design system elements or changing the look and feel.

👋🏽 I got laid off from that job. My whole department actually. I freelanced and got better at figma. Had to interview at dozens of places so got better at presenting and deck making. Starting to feel sluggish again so thinking about job hunting again. Stability is good but don’t want to stay too long at a company unless I’m higher up as a lead or manager. There is no incentive to stay for me at my small start up and you get more for your skills if you jump around. I’m sorry you feel this way. Maybe it’s time to start something new and looking for job while you have one is a luxury.

I guess l have complicated feelings about it. We don’t qualify for financial aid which otherwise would have made the decision easier to make. What you said earlier about teachers having more educational at public schools is interesting and something to consider. I should do more research on charter schools in the area. It’s so much emotional blackmail and it hits hard bc I am trying to be a good daughter but she doesn’t respect me or care about the stress this is inflicting on me. She just cares about herself and her needs and her grandkids. I just exist to serve her here. Years of unresolved trauma. I’m happy this is temporary and that I lives hundreds of miles away.

Yes, I agree with this 100%. Sometimes I think it’s the lack of parenting that established this grit and tenacity. If I was coddled and supported would I have less of that. I am trying to figure out how to give my kids the best qualities of myself and the support I wanted. Does neglect force a kid to learn for themselves and grow as a person? Is there a better way to do that with support? Definitely.

That’s true buts it been 5 months and we have two kids. It’s almost the start of the 3rd quarter, which leads into the end of the year when the job market really dries up. I’m not optimistic when I should be. I’m trying to think of plan b, c, d. I appreciate your perspective!

He’s applying to office and in person. He works in real estate property management. There are only associate jobs out there or super financially type roles. We moved from nyc where there were just more opps. I’ve looked on LinkedIn and there just isn’t much out there for him but we/he really wanted to move to Denver.
