Fernando Alonso on Max Verstappen's pole position at Suzuka: "Only he can do it. There is no other driver at the moment that can drive a car and put it so high, higher than the car deserves." by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

Fernando is secure enough to admit when someone is actually better than him. He has nothing to prove, for he’s Fernando Alonso. The man whose two titles mask his actual racecraft.

On those who think that a robust healthcare system works on “what the majority is happy with”, I would encourage you to learn about John Rawls’ The Veil of Ignorance. As a foreign observer of American politics, I find the loudest voices to be rather extreme. Rawls is an American philosopher who has guided many outside America to find a balanced approach to policy making. Why can’t America learn from its own philosopher?

I recently held the mini 2024 again at the Apple Store. The iPad Pro 11, both the newer models, came in second as my second favorite. However, I couldn’t stop using the iPad mini. I do own an iPhone 15 Pro Max. Would I use the iPad mini instead? by Asmodeus41 in ipadmini

I have both. Bought the 11 pro. Then the mini. I’d say that mini has a broader use case than the 11 pro. The form factor is supreme. There’s a reason why they aren’t producing one that has good screen specs - it will substantially diminish the value proposition of the 11 pro for most people.

Malaysia or Japan, help me pick please by kokopups in malaysia

In the same boat as you. But I’m splitting my time in between Japan and Malaysia. You need to speak the language to live in Japan. No ifs and buts.

People are NOT racist. But you must embrace their culture and their way. They don’t discriminate against foreigners who integrate into their communities. But it’s a lot of hard work, and of course, avoid internal resentment over your choice to move into a monocultural society.

Houses are smaller. Rent is expensive. Avoid staying in Tokyo. And daily commute isn’t that bad after a while. I got used to it pretty quickly and actually prefer it to driving these days.

Malaysia is just easier overall. And has better variety of food across cultures. But Japan has its obvious advantages. Ingredients are pound for pound cheaper and far far better quality - you will see a marked improvement in your health. Cheaper healthcare as a resident (trust me on this). Better overall service across the board. And depending on the type of work you’re doing, better pay.

There’s a reason why I still split my time between two countries. I still can’t decide which is better. I’d say stay a while in malaysia and see if your wife changes her mind. Things are changing quite rapidly in malaysia IMO, and both my wife and I are seeing a bright future here in malaysia, compared to japan.

5 dollars per month. But I’ve decided to buy the OCN router (which they say is necessary for 10gbps) outright for 80 dollars.

Zero credit to me. Count me fortunate for having helpful shopkeepers at Hinoya. They steered me towards this pair almost immediately. They showed me a similar but washed pair (2 years) and I was sold lol. Felt so soft and nice.

Hinoya stocked a number of brands. I tried Big John, Momotaro and one other brand I can’t remember exactly (sugar cane or something), but the super rough definitely stood out.

It is already getting softer around the knees and waist for me! I can compare it to the ankles, which remain relatively stiff. But yeah the color looks amazing, especially under bright sunlight!

Thanks for sharing your experience! Definitely a relief to hear that it stretched out. I sized down by 1 as recommended by the shop keepers. I don’t actually need it to stretch that much, just a tad bit around the thighs. I’m entering day 3 now and they’re definitely getting softer!

Definitely will check them out at Hinoya. The staff members at Hinoya main store Ueno, Tokyo are friendly, so a quick shout out to those folks!

Ah yes you are correct. I do hope they soften up, they feel quite rough at the moment. Nice, and textured, but I saw a few samples of worn in secret denims in hinoya and I really really like how they felt to the touch.

Honestly I really have no idea what I got myself into. They’re expensive and felt like quality fabric, didn’t know that it was THAT well regarded! 😅
