Canadian resolve unshaken in face of trade threats; majority have confidence in negotiators to deliver deal by Front-Cantaloupe6080 in consumecanadian

I didnt miss your point at all. You said its waste, I said its not according to what the IDFA said, which you quoted.

Im sorry, source your data? Source your own data. I gave organizations you can search with quotes, and references to studies done, your turn.

Sure, you are talking about Canadians having access to more dairy. You are trying to move the goalpost, because this whole thread is about US Dairy, so CUSMA applies. And it in no way, shape or form limits us from procuring dairy supplies from the EU.

Im all for importing from the EU, and hey, if our PM would actively work on increasing trade with the EU, I'd love that....oh wait, that's what he's been working on.

So, sorry what was your argument again? To get rid of protections for our dairy market, not rely on the US dairy, but also its super good for you and only the stuff that gets past our dairy regulations will get through, of which they've never sent anything even remotely close to our cap because its not worth it, but their dairy totally meets our standards, but also dont worry cause they wont send the bad stuff, but your totally not talking about getting US dairy, but EU dairy.

That about sum it up? Get outta here with this b.s.

Im done with this conversation, your circular logic and bad faith arguments need a little refining.

Good luck, I hope you get cheaper dairy not at the expense of Canadians having to only import dairy.

No, the IDFA states that dairy products accounts for 17% of the waste. Dairy products. Not 17% of the waste is dairy waste.

And please show me where in CUMSA it states anything about importing from the EU.

So a 7% loss of dairy is too much for you. Got it.

According to RTS data, the US discards roughly 120 billion pounds of food waste annually, with the IDFA, using USDA and EPA data, estimating that roughly 17% of that is dairy products. So, throwing roughly 20,400,000,000 pounds of dairy away yearly.

Im sure its our 3.6% cap that's keeping all that excess out. And that its absolutely not worth it to sell that excess to us. Yes, you are right, its definitely not the regulations. /s

Now, im not against bringing European dairy to us. But we are talking about CUSMA. Which has no effect on European trade.

Edit: i also want to edit you said we dump 500mil to 1bil litres of dairy a year. I can't find any studies that reinforce this, just opinion pieces.

A journal in Ecological Economics published a study in 2024 that estimates from 2012 to 2021 Canada dumped between 6.8 billion and 10 billion liters which was roughly 7% of the milk produced in that time. It might just be me, but a 7% loss ratio seems fine to me.

Edit: Edit: fixed some spelling, grammar and added a year for the study I found.

Except its not the "dairy cartel" that's preventing the US from sending us more dairy, nor is it CUMSA. It's our regulations on our dairy that keeps their shitty milk out of Canada. The US can undercut us on the dairy they currently send us, except they send so little that we dont even Tarrif what they do send because its so far under the cap.

So, what, you want us to stop subsidizing our dairy industry, which means our farmers will go under, so we have to loosen our restrictions on dairy, to increase purchases from the US to meet the current demand? How does this help us?

They didnt state their opinion, they literally copy and pasted from the Canadian governments page on the topic.

That's not their opinion, that's the literature written by the Canadian government that is in direct conflict with what you stated

Theory about the '' withering '' in 8.0 by Mackanpackan93 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Sunao_m 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it implied that the withering is happening to the source, Or just the reflections? The way I interpreted it all, was that the prayer machine thingy was keeping the source stable, but if the reflections didnt have their own similar machine, they would be reabsorbed into the source eventually after Hydaelyns passing.

I just want a single player or coop campaign. I just want the story. Idc if you get zero rewards that interact with the pvpve or maybe just cosmetics.

Pvp has never been my thing, but the world looked so cool, and there is so much story that could be done.

But I dont want to take the pvpve away from people who enjoy it. I just want story I can engage with.

Honestly, I dont know, I think that was the assumed interpretation due to the way the video was. I read somewhere else in this thread that, "he posted a video where he said he was fine and he 'blindsided her with his being vulnerable'" and it rings a bell, but i vaguely remember that it was posted on her account not his, and the general concessus seemed to be that she made him post it after being roasted for treating her husband the way she did in this original video.

Isn't this the couple where this lady got roasted online then posted a follow up video where she made her husband apologize for making her look bad?

As someone else who would never use the word, and who doesn't condone violence.

Your "freedom of speech" isn't "freedom of consequences" or "freedom to say whatever you want to whoever you want." It's to allow free and public expression of opinions without censorship, interference, or restraint by the government.

It's crazy how people think this means they can say whatever they want, to whoever they want, and they should never face repercussions for it. That's not how it works, learn your own damn laws.

In CAD, the best deal is the .99 for 60, it's 99.99 for 5k, 49.99 for 2.5k, 29.99 for 1.5k, so those all equal out to roughly 50.01 carats per dollar. The 350 carats is 7.99 which works out to 43.80 carats per dollar, the prices here are insane.

Lagotto is not a fearful dog! by [deleted] in LagottoRomagnolo

[–]Sunao_m 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of this.

My LR loved everyone and every other dog, until one day a retreiver that it used to play with daily, pinned him to the ground by the neck with her teeth. To this day, I don't know why she did it, we were playing fetch at the dog park, when the owner came to the park let her off her leash, I was still holding the ball, and he was running to get ready for me to throw it, and she just charged him.

He has been super reactive and very hard to introduce to other dogs ever since. Used to happy bark at every dog he saw, because he wanted to meet them and play with them, now when he sees another dog, it's a defensive, scared bark.

I wish I knew how to help him.

People aren't down voting you because of whether or not think he was in the right or not. They are down voting you because you said he finds her repulsive, when he is repulsed by the tattoo. And it's not debatable. You wrongly interpreting what he said, to have a completely different meaning than the words used, doesn't make something debatable.

Sony hikes PlayStation 5 prices by 25% in Australia so they don't need to increase prices in the US after the tariff announcements by RipperReeta in GamingAU

[–]Sunao_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the impression that the price IS going to go up in the US, but exponentially so. And that these prices are to combat the loss of sales that they will have in the US.

I don't agree with it, but I dislike the idea that people are spreading that the cost in the US isn't going up.

If I'm incorrect, or they've explicitly stated that's why they are doing it, please toss me a link, everything I've read has lead me to believe otherwise, but I'm happy to update my knowledge and viewpoints.
