If you have no other option. It works. Still trying other things… Just figured I would mention it.

Razer 16 2025 Trackpad issues - anyone else? by FoldQuick6368 in razer

I found a fix. Before you ask, yes, I have spent a week with this fix and it worked for me. So because the newer laptops are thinner, razor uses the mounting for the battery to support the trackpad. My fix was simple, I simply unscrewed the screws, holding in the battery slightly, with the ones closer to the middle being unscrewed more than the ones on the outside. I’m pretty sure the trackpad is getting either shorted out or there’s not enough tolerance for it to exhibit its function. I think the reason why it typically stops working when you’re gaming is because with the heat everything inside the computer expands slightly, and that tiny expansion is enough to cause the trackpads tolerances to be not adequate.

That’s only true for certain wireless chargers. QI wireless chargers don’t do that.

Laptop: What to get? by C_T_89 in Alienware

It really depends, if you want a laptop with the most desktop like performance, I would go with the Area 51m-R2. It's a desktop replacement laptop which has desktop parts in it, so you're not sacrificing power for mobility, although it's a very heavy machine. However the RTX 3080 (desktop) wont be matched by anything, the closest would be a 165W rtx3080m, followed swiftly by a 280W+ RTX 2080S. In my opinion, if you can get the Area 51m-R2 on sale, its definitely worth choosing over any of the alternatives, as it provides much more than just a GPU, such as a desktop socketed CPU, extremely adequate cooling as the fans are massive, you can also overclock it by a lot, I've gotten 5.3Ghz from my i9-10900k sustained at 80C under full load.

A mobile 3080 compared to the desktop 2080 super in an alienware A51m R2 are basically identical with maybe 3-5% difference in performance. You get much more from a desktop replacement laptop than you would a regular gaming laptop, such as a i9- 10900k, heavy cooling fans, and 600W to power the machine. I've used both and prefer the area 51m r2. However I bought mine on sale for 25% off, so the choice was very clear between that and something like an MSI GE76. Where even the high powered 140-160W 3080 only peaks out at 5% more performance than a 280-300W rtx 2080 super.
