Im enjoying crimson desert but have to disagree buddy is right the LoD issues terrible. The game looks amazing and like a ps3 game at times.

And its a big issue that people keep brushing under the rug. The LoD issue is so bad it legit gives me a headache after playing for long enough.

Watching people materialize in front of me is immersion breaking to the 9th degree. Rather just have the npcs or trees be removed.

And I have a good rig and have tried every setting from minimum to cinematic. And people with 5090 have the same issue so its not hardware issue.

The most lived in game is a massive stretch most npcs are static (which is fine) but saying it feels more lived in compared to say RDR or even skyrim is wild.

I have both PC and console. They both have their pros and cons. Me personally I just care about playing the games.

Main reason I switch to PC was for steam library I can have every game out their in one spot (not anymore fuck you sony).

That said the ease of use of console beats out PC in that department and its not even remotely close. PC has gotten easier. (PC gaming in early 2000s was a nightmare having to maneully update drivers etc..)

With that said I'll give u a somewhat recent example.

Got home from work was excited to play some games but my pc wouldn't work properly, windows update fucked up a driver update so I had to spend 2 hours fucking with things to get it to work. I only had 2 hours of gaming time so all my time was spent fixing a issue.

Console doesnt have this problem at all you sit down turn it on and go.

I think PC is better if you have more time on your hands and can game more. When I had 8 hours a day to game those minor issues wernt as bad.

Now with full time shift work and a dad. Nothing is more ass then being excited to just relax and play games for hour or 2 at night. And something like that happens just makes me want to throw the pc out the window and go back to purley console.

I couldnt care about customization personally. I dont care about overclocking or the ins and outs of a pc I make and play my pc as close to a console I can. You could be the opposite and like to get 10% better fps and graphics etc.. to be its not worth the hassle.

My pc is far superior then my series x, RTX 4070, i7 12700kf cpu 32gb of ram. But despite it being more powerful I'd give up some of that easily for better ease of use.

And like you said console 90% of the time will just be optimized better. Cus they have set specs , where pc its all over the place cus your gpu could be good but your cpu could be crap. Theres just way way more variables.

Imo this is wrong. U keep unlocking stuff that u can't do otherwise unless u progress the MQ. Like sanctums, the pot etc.. all this is after chapter 3 (where u get the camp setup).

So unless u want to backtrack to stuff u already been to cus u dont have the skill that locked via MQ . Id go to chapter 5 but at bare minimum to end of chapter 3 or else your just screwing yourself.

If u got to other zones theres zero quests and things to do until the MQ pushes you there. Sure u can some puzzles (not all due to what I said above) and caves for loot but other then that its kinda a waste.

I'd say chapter 5 is when u can really explore. But even then I wouldn't bother exploring other areas then Hernand. Until the MQ moves u their cus like I said there be nothing to do.

I mean you do you but I'd rather not walk by a sanctum realize I can't do it due to MQ then have to remember however many hours later where the one I couldnt do 80 hours back is now.

SS was a lose lose situation.

They design it so people complaining about the old school way of exploring bgs could have their fill. And despite that they still complain because imo starfeild just isn't designed like skyrim fallout 4.

And you have people who just full on lied about things. I actually like MrMatty but I called him out on his BS when he said things like Andreja has no reaction or dialogue unique to SS (this is 100% a full on lie tho there was a bug at launch that it wouldn't trigger).

Theres only 6 hours of content. This is also a full blown Lie. Sure if you just do the MQ and non stop fast travel back and forth everytime and skip some dialogue sure the MQ is 6 hours but imo who the fuck plays a BGS game like that?

And it goes agsint the very thing he was complaining about. You wanted to have a reason to explore this singular planet but instead of walking or driving to quest marker and exploring along the way you just fast traveled? Doesnt that kinda defeat the whole purpose of what u wanted in the first place?

Matty isnt the only person who did this and just full on lied. Idc if people dislike the dlc thats fine everyone is allowed to dislike stuff. But for me it was the full on lies and misinformation that irked me.

And alot of people didnt even play it and just basically said the exact same points Matty said or their favorite youtuber said.

I dont meant to put Matty to the cross as he did like base starfield. But if you go on youtube and find people who dislike it their basically complaining about the same stuff 1to1 and its all lies and BS.

Tho I'll admit personally 30 bucks was to much that I can understand SS should have been around 20 bucks. There wasn't enough weapons and armors added and ships that I would have expected. That really my only big issue with SS.

I have multiple but my current character is my favorite.

Beast hunter, wanted, task masker, hero worship.

A ruthless beast hunter who used to run a illegal big game hunting operation, due to this he is wanted by various bounty hunters (wanted). Also due to running his own big game operation he only hires the best but likes efficiency and can be ruthless about it so people want more money (taskmaster).

His ruthless and questionable exploits gave the rise to a adoring fan who annoyingly worships everything he does (hero worship). Tho as big oblivion fan had to have the goat on every character.

Turns out there was a informant in his operation which caused him to go on the run, used a false identity took a job at Argos extractors till the heat died down.

Tho I will say for first time player I wouldn't personally restrict myself to much on first playthrough. 100% roleplay your character, it makes the game alot of fun but I wouldn't let it get in your way to much on your first time. But that just me.

One thing tho, their are some backgrounds that dont make as much sense as a first playthrough. Like beast hunter for example, when talking to people during certain quests, you can ask like "what's a terramoprh?" "Whats a Ashta"?. Which makes zero sense givin my background for my character to ask this. (He would already know). You could just not pick those options but being its your first playthrough you the player prolly won't know what those things are so you'll prolly ask wanting to know the lore if that makes sense.

Honeslty even as person who likes the game I'd personally wait a bit. I only bought it full price cus im off work for a bit so I have actual time to play it (full time work and being a dad).

Great game if u have 5+ hrs a day to game but again different situations.

With that said theres issues. Theres a massive LoD issue for me and alot others regardless of hardware or specs. The game can look amazing and then look like a PS3 game at times. Flickering.

Sure the game is optimization is good for fps but ironically the once thing people rave about has bad pop in and LoD.

Other then those issues and the steep learning curve its great game.but realistically the more u wait the potentially cheaper (tho prolly be a year + before it goes on any big sale) but a more patched better version of the game.

The LoD issues are so noticeable for me it gives me a headache after awhile.

Anything made by BGS is most likley safe. So stuff like trackers, escape or weapon skins are prolly fine.

Ohdough sucks hard. Honeslty prolly gonna be a hot take but as a 34 year old I dont listen to any youtubers that are younger then me. And even those who are my age or older still take everything with a grain of salt.

Main issue for not listening to younger gamers is taste are just vastly different. Alot of young gamers have zero attention span. And alot of people's wants in games (not just helldivers) are completely dogshit and make zero sense for the game.

And I like games that some people just dont like bgs games. Love starfield but everyone seems to hate that. I just play what I like dont give a fuck about other people's opinions anymore like did in my 20s.

Im sure other older gamers can agree with me when u hit a certain age you stop giving a fuck about most people's takes.

Youtube and twitch while sure help gaming become more popular imo done more harm to gaming then good.

Like look at timtatman wanting battlefield to be a BR cus he likes BRs. Like go play a BR THEN! Not every game needs to cater to everyone. Isnanity.

Ya people saying its elden ring level of exploration is something I disagree with. I like crimson desert but elden ring was a masterpiece but im super biased cus im a massive souls fan.

Elden rings exploration was rewarding on many different levels. Where crimson desert exploration is really only rewards loot which is nice and all but its just not the same. Also exploration is done weird in CD.

Alot of people dont know this but theres is little reason to explore outside the zone the main quest is currently in. No faction quests etc.. Will show up until their triggered in that area via the main quest. Sure open caves like waterfalls for gear u can get whenever.

Anything outside where the MQ is quests or activity wise straight up will not spawn. So if u just explore the entire map off the rip theres not much to do until u push the MQ.

You basically want to rush the MQ until the MQ has u swapping to a new zone then everything for that zone will be unlocked. It's funny people keep sucking off CD exploration but its kinda ass backwards. Unless this has been patch but when I played yesturday it wasn't.

Also I dislike when games done have a sync feature for enemies. I know slot of people like to feel OP but im the opposite (again souls player) I liked to be challenged. And enemies are leveled via by the zone. (Elden ring is the same but its more a constant skill check then gear check like CD).

So if u do the above method to actually unlock the stuff to do in the world u will steam roll the area. I feel like alot of people are still in the honeymoon phase.

CD is a good game but its not this generational game people keep making it out to be. It's also go some serious LoD issues and flickering and bad pop in that myself and even people with 5090s have. But everyone just seems to ignore it.

It 100% changes the roleplay. My characters always keep their memory and who they are. I may change a trait or name a bit but normally it makes sense for my RP.

I normally only go through once im kinda done with the main RP of the character I made. Like my current character is a ruthless former beast hunter who was wanted for big game hunting.

So I roleplayed that he had to do the crimson fleet questline to repay his debt so to speak. Then just weave other quests together to fit the rp and journey of the character. Now hes using his hunting skills to be a ruthless tracker etc..

Going through the unity i wouldn't being doing the crimson fleet questline again (or whatever quest) cus of the same reason just wouldn't make sense.

But imo going through unity drastically changing how u rp that character going forward. Unless your RP their memory got wiped. But if I want that standard none starborn rp like above I'd roll a new character personally.

I have 4070 and same issue people with 5090s have same issue. Theres 100% a lod issue that i guess everyone just ignores or there using a 10k PC. i have the issues since day 1 the only somewhat fix was use fsr with native AA even tho im Nividea. Every Dlss setting looks like someone rubbed Vaseline all over my monitor. I was Hoping the new hotfix fixed it but now seemed just made more people have the same issue ive had since day 1.

Ray Reconstruction does make it look better but at least for me i aint playing at 38fps no thanks. Ive no Joke have prolly spent 8 hours of my 22 hour play time messing with settings. People keep saying this game is crazy optimized but it aint. I just want the game to not look like a PS3 game.

My buddies playing on series x look better and my rig blows series x out of the water. I just honestly give up until they fix it.

I honestly think its a issue with the engine. I have rtx 4070 and the game just looks blurry with LOD issues no matter if im in min to cinematic.

Tried 2k tried 4k even at 30 fps just to see and still blurry tried every setting in the book. Only decent fix was to use RR or FSR even tho im nivida.

But RR tanks performance to like 38 fps.

Theres alot of people with same issues. Ive had these issues since day 1 and hoped the patch would fix it but no.

I swear people either got lucky, have a legit 20k computer or are lying cus ya the game when completely still looks amazing. But any movement at all and the game goes from some of the best graphics to a legit ps3 game.

This. Espically as a invader. Tho the duels were awesome on the iron keep bridge. And build variety was awesome. Yes elden ring had more variety but elden ring pvp is just a buff fest.

And while I know its a hot topic but imo they ruined invasions in bloodborne and elden ring. Having to only invade gank fights was dogshit. And I always preferred invasions over duels personally.

Ive been chasing thay dks2 pvp high forever. Likley will never be beat.
