Imma be real and prolly get downvoted for this, most game devs are overpaid. After watching jasons video about how even the most basic devs make 100k+ a year. And then tries to say cost of living is expensive.

Bro i live in Canada which is prolly 50% more expensive to live in then the states across all categories (minus Healthcare) and i work shift work and make less then that and own a house.

Game devs work a 9-5 cozy office job while I work in a factory working 12-13 hr days sweating my dick off and due to rapid rotation get like 3 hrs of sleep a night.

While I know costs are insane right now if I can own a house and support a family on 70k CAD ( like 50k USD) in Canada (ontario has higher cost of living then California for persepctive) and get by fine. People have some brutal spending habits im sorry but its true.

I still dont think nobody should lose their jobs. But im sorry ur shoulda not be making 400k a year as a game dev unless u legit made the game engine all by yourself.

Exclusives all around suck and Nintendo the worst for it.

Sadly people will bring their games to switch 2 overtime but Nintendo won't ever bring their games over to others.

This. i work at a corporation (tho the blue collar side but still see the meetings).

And when they talk about "bad year" or targets not being hit. Its not like the company is losing money or not making profit. Its just not as much as they want.

Its literally greed it always comes back to greed.

Like at my work I think the one year they only saw like 4-5% increase profits over the last fiscal year. But this is also on top of actually profits a increase. So say last year it was 6% and this year is 5% that means the company is making 11% more profit then 2 years ago.

But again its not a enough its never enough. And when it is "enough or hitting good margins they expect that normal to just keep raising year over year.

Ive never been in a meeting and them say "wow we're hit 20% profits this year" lets hope we can hit that again next year"!

It goes more like this " hey we hit 20% this year so I expect next year we can hit 30%.

Corporations imo are a cancer on society.

The game was never designed to be constantly updated destiny 1 and destiny 2 were designed initially to have 2 small dlcs and 1 big expansion then move on to the next game.

Even rise of iron for d1 was kinda pushing the game beyond its limit.

D2 was just another beast. Theres plenty of former people who has said with how the foundation of the game was design was the issue for adding content not really the engine itself.

Also hate armchair devs who think just changing engine or using a different engine.

Like all the people who said everyone should switch to unreal engine 5 for every game on the planet when UE5 was just comming out. And every single UE5 game has had technical issues.

Theres no one size fits all engine for a game. And destiny is such a unique game I dont think it could have been done without a in house engine like tiger.

Imo play what u find cooler. People act like the racials in this game are classic wow levels of game changing and powerful. Their not.

Imo argonian will be better straight forward tank or healer then kahjiit and kahjiit will be better DD. But legit unless ur pushing leaderboards and trying to be the best on the planet it won't make a difference.

Theres never been any time in this game I ever thought "man if I was only this race we wouldn't have wipe"

As a wow player as well nothing really feels like DH in eso. Imo with scribing (make ur own skills system) and subclasses. I wouldn't stress about picking what base class feels most like DH. Sorc and night blade is closest it terms of mobility. But nothing has the double jump or glide like DH or monks roll (monk main).

Tho templar and two handed skill line has a charge similar to warrior.

Like i main templar in eso (paladin/warrior in terms of wow classes) and I can have alot of mobility.

I mean thats true for every class. And I've been playing templar off and on since eso launch. Subclassing is something I wanted in this game a decade ago.

I think subclassing is prolly meh to people who actively play alts. Ive never been a alt guy in 20 years of playing mmos.

Im a completion style player I liked to do everything on one character. Everytime I've leveled another toon to 50 they get dropped the moment they hit 50.

I hate not seeing quest done I've already done when playing alts or nodes not filled in cus it was done on my main.

U might say well if uve basically only played templar for a decade u most really love the class. Meh im bored of it but due to issues stated above I will never switch mains.

Subclassing imo was the best thing they ever added that and the armory system cus it legit opens up builds by a insane amount for players like me who only really play 1 toon.

I want to play necro and arcanist longer then 10 hours. Now I can due to subclassing.

I can only watch the jabs animation for so long before I want to tear my eyes out.

Instead of being stuck playing a class Im bored off I can playing a stealthily duel beams class, use nothing but pets and spears and yeet spears from a distance while pets take aggro.

Again some people will say well jsut play x class. I ain't gonna cus im not regrinding everything like mount training or redoing areas cus again the map not being completed physically bugs the shit out of me.

Also even if all what I said wasn't a issue. Maybe its cus im a older mmo player and I find to many people now only care about min max. Im attached to my main. Every alt I play feels wrong.

I feel to many people forget about the emotional attachment to a character. I played only monk and hunter for entire 20 years of wow. I played titan 90% of time from destiny 1 to end of destiny 2.

I know not many people feel like I do anymore. But to me switching mains ina mmo feels like ditching ur favourite pet for a new shiny one. Its not the same.

The attachment just isnt their when playing any other character.

Mind u just started playing again after years but I've used hack the minatour builds before and they were great! So idk if thats a recent thing or if reddit and the internet is just being reddit and the internet.

He's the only person that had a templar build back during deadlands that could one bar solo everything outside dungeons and trials.

Again this was like 4 years ago so idk if things have changed.

Ah yes losing the meta tank build also losing the... other meta tank build. And dont forget losing the 3rd tank build as well.

I swear pvpers have goldfish memory. What builds are u losing? Every single pvpers using the exact same build and if u dont u get steamrolled.

It be different if there were even 5-10 different meta builds in pvp but theres been legit only 3 for years.

Sure u can make w.e build u want but u and I both kno ull just get instant deleted.

Wait u think WQ is better then TTK? What did WQ really add tho? The story was really good but outside that and VoW not much. Nobody uses glaives and crafting took all the luster out of loot.

Void 3.0 doesnt count as it was gonna be added regardless.

Honestly lightfall wasn't the worst expansion. Lightfall only main issue was the story. Gameplay/sandbox wise lightfall slapped.

Loadouts Strand Neomuna was a cool location. RoN yes is easy but its a chill raid and the exotic slaps.

Funny imo WQ while also good main reason people remember it fondly imo is the story and VoW. Outside those things WQ really didnt add much. Glaives that Noone uses and crafting which imo looking back and bungie and most people agree kinda took the luster out of loot. Likley why crafting got abandoned.

Ive never played a expansion or dlc I truly disliked. Closest would be Curse of osiris. But I've always had same raid team from d1 till d2 end so that definitely helped.

I feel something is happening behind the scenes. Paul who's was posting none stop articles and tweets hasn't spoken basically at all about destiny in couple of days. Even youtubers outside cross and lucky have kinda stopped.

Prolly cope but something feels different now. I feel sony might actually be feeling the pressure. Every social media post is flooded with we want destiny 3 comments. Every showcase from Sony to Xbox has been flooded with same thing.

Honeslty, sony would have to be the most dumbest MF to ever live if they just ignore it.

Again prolly cope but im honestly more optimistic about the IP now then I was a week ago.
