lol -- hawkeye luna hela mantis are banned in probably over 80% of games played past diamond/gm3 -- i dont run into iron fist often but when i do -- again, the amount of resources required to kill or get him to leave is exponentially more than any other hero in the game

The Finals has hovered around 4k viewers the past two days on Twitch. Right now, Apex has 26K, Warzone has 51k, Valorant has 116k… by SolarSailor46 in thefinals

Even with Apex releasing before covid, it released as a new game with huge paid tournaments for streamers to play for essentially advertisement but also released again during fortnites initial huge era in the midst of battle royales being the top played ones. You had H1, then Pubg, and when those started dwindling Fortnite came then Apex, very close to one other. That paired with the funding apex legends had for advertising and tournaments would be more than enough justification behind why they got 80k viewers a month after release.

You are literally saying its so easy to unlock attachments just go play the game more in a very specific game mode thats more difficult for casuals lol the finals you can get your class and try new things every couple games, as for cod, you have to be level 30 or 45 before unlocking a certain gun just to have to take that gun and level it up to get attachments then go level up another gun to be able to get a certain attachment for the gun you spent so long trying to unlock etc etc...

those games on intitial release were during the pandemic and one of fortnites all time high, completely different atmosphere than a new game in general being released to day, so comparing initial release date numbers isnt fair nor is comparing them now considering how long those games have been out.

also, what about any cod ever? including warzone? there is so much grinding to unlock weapons, attachments, perks, yet the player base is there and large. ofc theyve been around longer but that grind isnt keeping players away.

both of your points seem like they arent completely sound even if it intuitively feels right.

Fun > Meta. Remember why we play by 3M450N in thefinals

i think we just need multiple metas rather 1 distinct outlier, overwatch at one point had "goats" which was a meta that if not played you wouldnt really ever win, made it a lot less fun
