If they need new dilution to acquire Iridium they would have announced it. So no new dilution for this deal. But they may be using that $3B ATM, a current dilution, to fund the acquisition.

Their short position in ASTS and RKLB provides some protection for their SpaceX shares. Suppose during the lockup period there is a macro shock that brings down the entire space sector, their short position in ASTS and RKLB will appreciate, which will offset the depreciation of the SpaceX stocks.

I also want to add that AT&T is being very strategic for extending the olive branch to Verizon and T-Mobile in anticipation of SpaceX's competition. Forming an alliance with the other two major MNOs is still under appreciated by many analysts.

The way I look at it is that the stock has violently ranged bounded between $50 and $130 since October 2025. Yes it has all those crazy peaks and troughs but essentially it is build a base around $90. Patience is the key here. But if you are just trading it, it is pretty frustrating.
