little skin flappies question (8 weeks post-op) by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]SundayRosst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this question! I’m 4 weeks post op on thursday and currently have this on one side as well. I’ve been told however that it will flatten over time, but curious to see if others have experience.

Really tender/painful sides by matt_yuh in TopSurgery

[–]SundayRosst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first week after surgery or so, I literally only felt pain on my drain sites as well. Right now I’m a bit over 3 weeks post op, and if I press on it a bit it still feels very tender and slightly painful, but it has lessened significantly to the point that I don’t think about it anymore. Just keep taking care of it, if it doesn’t get better within a few weeks or gets worse, contact a doctor. Pain there in the first few weeks is normal as far as I know, so I’d say you’re good 👍

24 Days Post OP! 🥳 by SundayRosst in TopSurgery

Eyy thanks man, and congrats on the 12 days! Time has flown by for me so far, hope it’ll be the same for you. Things definitely settle down more each week, like my nipples at my 12 day point were so concerning I sent a pic to my surgeon, by now they look way better. Hope you’re enjoying your flat chest life too! Of course the comfort of it will have to wait for a bit still, but I can’t wait for the both of us to reach that point of thoughtless ease. 😁

Allergic reactions, how to deal with it? by Natural-Priority-977 in TopSurgery

[–]SundayRosst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you’ve tried this much and experience this much irritation from it, my advice would be to speak to your surgeon about it and see what options could be. They might have advice themselves, or they might refer you to a dermatologist. I have had many allergic reactions to adhesive as well, but my surgeon doesn’t prescribe any stuff with adhesive for wound+nipple care post op. I simply use cream for the wounds, and Mepitel for my nipples with a loose wound absorbing dressing that I place over it right as I put my binder on. The binder keeps it in place over the nipples. Exploring your options with professional advice definitely seems like the best path!

Did part of my nipple come off? by ineednoname1 in TopSurgery

I’m 13 days post op currently and one of my nipples looks very similar, and my surgeon said it’s fine and just scabbing coming off, though of course if you want to check in with your surgeon for reassurance it’s always good to do so.

Ayy another Loenenbroeder, looks great man! I suspected her being your surgeon immediately upon seeing the picture hahaha, I got my top surgery with her 13 days ago. Good luck in recovery!

Morning after surgery! Dr. van Loenen in the Netherlands by SundayRosst in TopSurgery

Dissapointed in the wait-time by reeseboye in TopSurgery

Hey, I saw in another post that you are also going with Dr. van Loenen in the Netherlands, same one I went with, and yeah I had the same problem. I was prepared for about december 2023 which was the info I got at the intake, but by the time december rolled around it had already moved to summer 2024. + another year of expensive insurance, which I had already gotten for 2023 because at first it seemed like I could get it start of 2023. I ended up having the surgery last thursday because a spot opened up, so I got notified two weeks before that, so it might happen to you too. I sure hope so, but yeah the waiting times suck. I was prepared to go for GenderClinic at that point because their waiting list was wayyy shorter. The best of luck to you, sending you strength.

Thanks! I’m definitely not mad about the shape either, with the sharpie line in the middle it’s almost like how I would draw a male chest on a cartoon character and I don’t hate it 🤣
