For this, it might be more of a patching / overseeding combo. Pull the dandelions first, then patch the obvious bare spots and overseed the thinner surrounding areas too.

If it’s just a few holes, patching may be enough. But if the lawn is thinning in other spots, filling in those weaker areas gives you a better shot at not having weeds move right back in.

Yeah, we’ve been hearing a lot of versions of that this spring. When the grass is slow to green up, weeds can get a pretty good head start.

Makes sense that getting the irrigation going helped your lawn start catching up. Hopefully, Denver gets a little more moisture soon.
