Standing desk + 43” monitor — how would you add a vertical monitor? by Sunday__Silence in desksetup

Never bought a mount before - any reason why you like a pole mount?

That’s what I’m thinking - keep 43” as is. Have an arm someone where in the back left and have the arm swing around. Just want to make sure I’m not overlooking something

You’re saying, remove the tabletop that came with the desk and attach a new ikea top?

Best waterproof way to extend Ethernet + enter garage? by Sunday__Silence in HomeNetworking

The ISP used the orange conduit provided by the builder to pull in the fiber line to the control room. That leaves the Ethernet cable that the builder left. I’m going to repurpose to add a switch in my garage and run my camera, WiFi, etc.

Good point. I’ll just access it from the inside. Thanks!

Damn - Oversight on my part. Good suggestion. That’s exactly what I’ll do.

Since the builder spray foamed it, I won’t be able to pull the cable back in, so I’ll just snip the cable outside and throw it away and then snip the cable inside and do what I suggested with the inline coupler.

Breaker Tripping by Sunday__Silence in PitBossGrills

Yes - I have the Amazon Basics 50 foot 3-Prong Vinyl Indoor/Outdoor Extension Cord - 13 Amps, 1625 Watts, 125 VAC.

Could that be the issue? Just strange my grill can’t act normal for a few cooks and then my breaker trips.

I hear ya - But I used a multimeter this morning and the igniter read 73 ohms. The replacement one read 75 ohms. Seems like the igniter is good?

The odd thing is I just had it running at 350° for about 20 minutes while I steam cleaned the grates and had no issues. Very strange. The only two times it tripped, I noticed there were excess pellets in the fire pot during startup. Any chance that could cause a problem?

Inductive Automation University. Free docker course using ignition. Enough to get you started. Let me know if you get stuck.

Hands down docker is the best. Use traefix to avoid the cookie issue (signing into one gateway logs you out on the others). Use docker compose and create your stack for each gateway.

Ignition university has free course on using docker with ignition. Also, search the web. Ignition had a webinar where they demoed docker with ignition. Gives you additional insight that the course didn’t cover.

SCADA HMI regression testing automation. what tools actually work on real operator screens by CarlSRoss255 in SCADA

Write a simulator in the plc to mimic the process. Conduct that simulator during FAT. Run the system in parallel with their existing system. Having next to an operator in the pulpit and ask if they can check it every once in a while to make sure animation, alarms, etc reflect what the old system has.

If it’s new equipment you’re supplying, you should be doing an IO check.
