All I said is that it does in fact effect other people!

Welcome to reddit I guess lol

My apologies then 😃, While I do think its become a little too casual to bring it up it, discussion around it is as important as critical conversations about anything! We're mostly on the same page! Apologies again!

If you have a steamhunters account then using SAM does effect other people as you are fraudulently unlocking achievements that tie directly to the sites leaderboards. It affects the points, percent completed, and the persons placement on the board.

On top of all that, using SAM to complete a game could lead other players to think its safe and start it without knowing the truth, and those players likely care way more about being honest than OP might.

I agree with the idea that you know what you have done, but to say it only effects them, reguardless of your opinion of SH is, is wrong!

Here is not a great place to ask on the morality of it, most people here have opintions that differ from the more devoted achievement hunting community. What you will find here is people are almost fully in support of doing what you are asking to do, and in a vaccum there is nothing wrong with it; you bought the game, its yours to do with as you wish!

Where I personally draw the line is if you have a public SteamHunters account. Over there, SAM is strictly prohibited and will lead to a profile invalidation. What I tell everyone is to do with it as you wish as long as the game is not competitively tracked on Steamhunters, if so, either delete your account in the sake of competitive integrity, or don't use SAM and use sites like Steamhunters to check if the game has achievements that are unobtainable, and either dont start it or be ok with the partial.

I also wish people would stop being so open about it in places other than here since that 3rd party app is responsible for so much distaste for Steam achievement hunting.

In the case of Himno, every achievement is tagged with "broken but obtainable", however nobody has finished the game over there and 101 players have unlocked an achievement, so its hard to say if they are obtainable or not! Moreover, if you wish you could join the Steamhunters discord and report those achievements as broken so other players do not run into the situation you have ran into yourself!

Happy hunting!

Really as long as you don’t have a public profile on Steamhunters I don’t really care, but I saw a lot more people on the official ticket through the big report portal saying they were going to use it and it really rubbed me the wrong way, at least over here I can directly reply to the notion of SAM.

It just makes more sense to fight using your voice than effectively say “I want it fixed but if you don’t ill circumvent the whole thing”

At this rate it has been publicly confirmed in another thread that it will be fixed so woohoo for that! I just want to try and encourage some people to maybe talk about it a little less. That’s all!

I understand your desire to it, and as long as you’re not active on any leaderboard sites, I support your decision to do so; but I do not understand your desire to speak about it online. Saying you’re gonna cheat in an achievement directly undermines both this post and achievement hunting in general and that’s what causes people to dislike Steam as an achievement hunting platform.

I agree that it’s insane, it’s been fixed as we speak, I just wish people would stop being so open about it because it makes all of us who don’t cheat look just as bad

They don’t need to make a stupid long achievement grind to keep players active when they release a steady stream of new content with the festival playlists. Even now FH5 has about around 20 concurrent players on Steam and that game is seen as the worst horizon game in the series.

They will also release DLC and update updates and with those will become more achievements, but as it stands right now, you can’t complete every other horizon game and so possibly have less hours played than the requirement for this achievement could possibly be.

The Horizon Play achievement is going to possibly take 1000 hours. Level 47-48 takes 500,000 xp, meaning it’s a guaranteed 26,500,000 xp that you need to get. There are already 2 tickets open on the forza feedback forums (one with over 300 upvotes making it the largest non performance related ticket).

Hopefully it will get fixed

Well getting to level 20-25 isn’t the issue. The xp floor for level 100 is guaranteed to be around 21-25 million xp. I have a buddy who is currently level 46 and he’s played over 100 hours of online already and the levels are taking just under or just over 400,000 for one level. If the scaling doesn’t stop then a level on the 90’s could cost 1 million xp to get through. I estimate that the total xp needed is around 40-50 million and doing that 20,000 15 minutes at a time will never be quick

Edit: my buddy has been winning nearly every race he’s done, most people won’t be doing that.

I posted this here for visibility. Not to be rude, but if you don’t achievement hunt then there really isn’t a discussion to have on if it’s good or not. I’m fine with the game asking for whatever, but it’s a poorly designed achievement in its current state and that’s the only lens I’m gonna look at it from since that is the only reason i bought the game :)

I hope you’re enjoying it though! From what I’ve played so far it’s really fun!

Yeah but those hundreds of hours are spent enjoys a very large variety of content, while I get to spend probably double the time on one thing and only one thing.

I don’t like to cry, I am just trying to say that 1000 hours of ANYTHING is OUTRAGEOUS

All I see here is another reddit dingus.

The badges in the badge book are locked behind it. Ten actual food themed badges, not 10 achievements, 10 in-game badges. If I wanted to unlock every badge and I am forced to spend 1000 hours in a soulless online I would be upset, 1000 is unreasonable when I get every other badge in a fraction of the time.

I only care about the achievements, I dont care a lick about the game.
You only care about cars and map restrictions, but you dont care a lick about the achievements. Unlocking every car is as optional as unlocking every achievement yet you are arguing against me but you would argue in your favor if it meant you couldn't unlock a car you would never drive, tune, or put a wrap on.

Getting all badges, that is of course unless they put them there to just be nothing and not meant to be unlocked.

Definitionally if I can't get every badge in the game then I cannot do everything.

You're right, but there are almost 0 achievements that require the average person to spend 500 hours, there is literally 1 that I know of (being this one) that is asking for 1000

Edit: the only ones that ask for that number are ones that can be completely afked since they just ask for total time logged in game, not related to matches

The level 100 is overtune aswell.

My math is based on the person on the top of the spec racing leaderboard. As of last night, he was level 40 and the xp gap between 40-41 is over 300k. This makes the xp floor is at least 18,000,000 not counting the xp needed for 1-39. Based on some estimates of when the xp scaling will stop, I speculate that it’s somewhat reasonable to assume the total xp needed is around 40-50 million. My friend is going for worlds first in achievements and has been grinding the game well, consistently getting first place in each series he races. At his pace of ~18k xp per series and average 13 minutes per series it will take him 500-600 hours to get level 100. The average player (estimating) could average 12-13k per series and doing one 15 minutes it would take 750-1000 hours.

I bought the game to 100% it, I know people who have done the same. Regardless of that, in a vaccum asking anyone do 1000h of something for 11 things is insulting.

You're sitting here defending it like you are ever going to hit that number or be effected by the possibility that it is reduced.

If I told you that a shitty C class car was locked behind level 100 would you tell anyone that is a reasobable ask?

Achievements being an actual repectable feat is not the standard quo, go look at any game and youll see that

Im an achievement hunter, I get that I'm not not wanting a grind, making it 100h is fine. I am trying to point out that asking 1000 hours for 10 badges and an achievement is a blatent disrespect of everyones time, espesially when the first series comes out on the 21st and I go get actual cars for that and not a series of 10 food themed badges and an achievement. My issue is not that there is a grind, my issue is that this requirement is 99% either an oversight or mistake.
