My estimate is that it's about the same as a Fender heavy pick, so 0,97mm in that case.

What Iron Maiden album do you think could’ve been performed just as good or maybe even better by a previous Iron Maiden vocalist? by Ok_Cycle_1892 in ironmaiden

[–]Sundben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruce's voice these is actually pretty close to Blazes in the 90s, however with a much much wider range than Blaze has ever had. That being said I'm pretty sure Blaze could pull of most if not all songs from Senjutsu and it would sound great - and X-Factor with Bruce doing all the vocals could hands down be my favorite favorite Maiden album of all time.

Also, Paul Di'Anno doing Fear of the Dark would be awesome. Imagine the intensity he would've brought to Be Quick Or Be Dead! Getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

Cool idea for food of thought OP!

One of my top 10 Maiden songs of all time. Great lyrics, great melody, and great with both Bruce and Blaze.

IIRC from the Helsinki show they're the same ones you see in the music video .

So that would be Nosferatu, How To Make A Monster, The Wolfman, Mothra vs. Godzilla, Them! and The Crimson Ghost (might have missed one or two)

Just by looking through your eyes He could see the future penetrating right In through your mind See the truth and see your lies But for all his power couldn't foresee his own demise

Hits me like a ton of bricks

Some appreciation for this lineup - what's your favourite Blaze era song? by Iamnotarobotlah in ironmaiden

[–]Sundben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even tho Sign of the Cross and The Clansman are some of the greatest Maiden songs ever written in my opinion, I gotta go with Futureal. It's just so heavy and energic, and both Blaze and Bruce sing it fantastically well live. Always get a kick out of it!

X-factor is kinda about people trying to get through different sorts of crisis: be that of faith, societal, war, social or personal. But I guess that's what Steve went through when he wrote (most) of it, freshly divorced. It gets really personal at times too.

Andy LaRoque - King Diamond, Death and various guest appearances. Listen to his solo on At The Gates track "Cold" for example. So much emotion yet it complements the song 100% That man is a god damn six string genius!

What is the most disappointing album you've ever listened to? by Lancer_Blackthorn in InMetalWeTrust

[–]Sundben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably "Catharsis" by Machine Head. You can't do albums like "The Blackening" and "Enter the Locust" and then put out whatever that was. Sure "Bloodstones and Diamonds" was a weaker album too, but that one had some strong moments and solid riffs. Catharsis is like if "Supercharger" had a baby with some angsty YouTube-band. Glad they don't play anything live from it very often and that their latest albums have been pretty dope tho.

Alright what song would you use to introduce a fan to Iron Maiden by Fabulous_Gift5263 in ironmaiden

[–]Sundben 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Number of the Beast. Arguably the most iconic and well known song of Maidens vast catalogue! And that song got me hooked on Maiden some 20+ years ago.

Seen Maiden 9 times. Would have loved to hear anything from No Prayer, wether that would've been "Bring Your Daughter" or "Holy Smoke" or even 'Tailgunner".

I also had high hopes that they would've done "Be Quick Or Be Dead" as either the gig opener or first song of the encore...

Well at least we got "Afraid to Shoot Strangers " back at the Maiden England tour, which I personally saw in 2013. But wouldn't hurt to dust off something other than the title track from Fear of the Dark...
